Global Jet Club CT114
Hi Guys,
I took delivery of a Global Jet Club CT114. I opted to have the gear and doors pre installed as well as the elevator and rudder pre hinged. They guys have done a great job and the finished model looks fantastic!! This should be a really visible plane to see in the air and doesn't look like a big build. Not sure what will power it yet but thinking along the lines of a P70 or similar.
I have attached some pics of it thrown together last night and will take more if anyone wants.
Regards
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,
Nice to see! I have ordered the same Snowbird from Global Jet Club - only with # 7 on the tail. Could you possibly post a couple of interior pix of the model?

Forgot to mention it also came with Aluminium inserts for the spars and all control horn mounts milled out and ready to glue as well as a spare air ram and spare off set hinges for the doors.

Hi-
It will be interesting to find out the actual flight ready weight of the CT-114. I am thinking a PST J600R (6.5kg) should drive it fine.

Richard

AUW of what you see in the first post of the plane with retracts, doors, air rams, fuel cells and pipe is approx 6kg. I was thinking of the 600r but the 800 would give that little extra punch as it still needs 7 servos plus batteries and equipment. I'm thinking an AUW dry of 10kg is what I will come in at.

Jeremey, is the turbine mounting rail glued in or is that a job still to do? Its just the picture shows the RHS rail finishing very short on the former - I am sure its not being overlooked but you can never tell

The turbine mounting rails are held in place with two screws per side making it nicely removable. On the full size Tutor the main gear inner doors DO NOT stay open when the gear is in the down position. It acts a la P51.

Hi Marc,
as D,W said it screws into place. The mounts and brackets are pre tapped, I haven't secured it yet, just sat it in there (not very straight ) but it is dead striaght when put in place.
I have attached some more pics showing fit and mounts - (not bolted on yet)

Jeremy, Darren has finally started to assemble his, fitting the P-70 out of his Boomerang.
He has mounted the pipe to the rear of the engine mounting rails so he can easily pull it out. - John.

Jeremy,
Do you have the air cylinder specs for the mains and nose gear doors? I am going to order some for mine and would appreciate the sizes.
Thx,
Dan

Hi Jeremy!
Old thread, but how did it go with the Tutor? How does it fly, and what engine did you use?
I'm asking because I am tempted to buy the the Tutor from GJC and I'm looking for all the info I can get. Not easy to find info on JL/GJC Tutors that have flown... Hope you don't mind a few Q's...
What is the quality on gear, wheels and brakes like? Do the hold up, flying characteristics, ease of assmble etc...
Had a look at one not yet built today... Looked very good indeed, but did seem little on the heavy side. The one I looked at had a couple of broken gear door hinges, and the hinges seemed very brittle. Gear door cylinders looked a bit small. Are they up to the job?
Also noticed that there is no access hatch in the rear of the fuselage. Is it still manageable to run and secure the vires, rudder servo etc??
