RE: BANDIT ARF - Almost finished
Achilles,
BVM sells a pneumatic "bulkead fitting" set that takes 10 minutes to install. The idea is that you don't have to plug the air lines when you install the wing panels, they plug themselves.
Look into it, it works great and believe me, any minute you can save during setup at the field is worth a while.
You installation is prisitine!

The "bulkhead fitting" by BVM that FalconWings is referring to is called the "EZ-AIR" and is BVM part number 5495. You can see it on the BVM website.
Retail price for the full set of o-ringed fittings which includes the laser cut plywood mounts is $26.95 direct from BVM.

Hi Thomas, i trimmed out the screws so they flush with the ply reinforcements, to avoid wire damages.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi Anurag , i think it wouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Maybe the same time to rig my Boomerang Elan?!?!!?

How much time does it take to rig this plane on the field? There are more than 6 wing bolts.... and then the 6 hatch screws....

This is my only complaint about this model. Everything else about it is great.

Yes, the assembly process is a joke considering what an amazing plane BVM has made....I dont even break it up...i have a large van that accomodates this plane assembled..and thats how it goes to the field. Is the Ultra bandit this way too? That would be a sad joke if it is, as I plan to get one soon.

Hi Anurag,
The ultra is super quick compared to the bandit and bandit arfs. You should try an old classic bandit where you not only have the hatch to deal with, then the spar bolts and then the tiny screws to attach the inner gear doors. Worth it when its all done but on a cold winter day it can be a little painful [:@]
Regards Al

RE: BANDIT ARF - Almost finished
Ragz,
The Ultra Bandit utilizes four very robust aluminum tubing wing spars that plug into factory installed phenolic tubes that are part of a very strong carbon fiber frame system.
It features a totally different wing attach system than the earlier Bandit series airframes.
The forward spar is removable and the aft spar is permanently factory installed into its respective wing panel. When disassembled, the fuselage width is minimal, as no spars protrude past the fuselage side. Removal of the wings and the horizontal stabilizers keeps the fuselage width down to 14".
Two screws and two slip fit spars secure each wing panel to the fuselage.
A 4-40 allen head cap screw is installed through the fuselage bottom, screwed into each aft spar, and another 4-40 screw is installed through the lower wing root fairings and threaded into the carbon fiber leading edge attach tabs that are factory installed in each wing.
There are three pnuematic systems quick disconnects and two servo leads to connect during the assembly process of each wing.
It only takes a few minutes....
Why get in a hurry?

RE: BANDIT ARF - Almost finished
I have 75 flights on my Bandit ARF, it is the best flying plane I have ever owned! Truly an AWESOME jet! I don't mind a little extra assembly time at the field as the end result is worth it
I hope you have as much fun with yours as I have with mine!
