Default Miniature DH Goblin turbine

I noticed on http://www.modelenginenews.org/ , reports of John Heeley's quarter scale De Havilland Goblin H1 gas turbine, which is reported to be a runner that is still just in its early stages of testing.

Anyone know where to buy a copy of the Model Engineering mag in question ? I'd like to read more on this.

BTW, there are also many other amazing home-made engines described on the site – see http://www.modelenginenews.org/galle...rts/index.html for a huge range of cool stuff from just ONE guy.

That would be great John ! I will PM you an email address to send it to.

If there are any follow-up articles on it, I'd love to hear about them too.

Thanks,
Gordon

That particular V12 appears to be a german design – see http://www.engineman.de/plan_12zyl.html there's a link you can click on to hear it run. Sounds awesome even if it ISN'T a turbine !

Well I have not only seen this engine and met John Heeley a couple of times, I have seen some of his earlier work, particularly his Bentley rotary. The Goblin is an amazing piece of work. He has given a couple of evening lectures at our local model club. He has had it running quite a lot since it appeared in the magazine.
Apparently he ran it up in the kitchen with the exhaust pointing out of the kitchen door and down the garden path.

V12 glow engine.....dang, that's $100 in glow plugs alone not to mention needing 12 glow plug starters, 12 chargers.......[X(]

For all those that were interested in the Model Engineer article, here is a link to my Photobucket page.

I have not come across any other articles on this great engine.
