All AMT turbines always have had almost instant throttle response. The Oly is a monster of an enigne and it can reliably produce over 50 lbs of thrust. The only negatives I have is the older type ecu and the hefty weight. But they truely are built like a tank.....

They are just about the finest engineered, sweetest performing, most powerful turbine you can buy in my opinion...
Bulky ecu and overall weight are the trade off. If your looking all out sheer grunt they done come any finer[8D]

The newer version ECU's are actually smaller than some other manufacturer's. As others have said, they are powerful, have quick response and above all they are extremely reliable. One well known kit manufacturer used to refer to them as the "Iron Lungs" of r/c turbines. An apt description.

I have flown AMT (both Netherlands and USA) for 10 years

i fly my olympus over 5 jears now- never a shutoff or a other problem without a hopper or any airtrap..... ones i chrashed with a huge fire- the thrusttube failured.....
i pull a black dirty peace of metall out of the fire- after 3weeks i got it back from benny for just 500usd and runs like new!!!
second story. it sucks a festo qlink from the table. i was behind the turbine and feels the dust. the turbine looks like a rat had biten it. i call benny and he ask if she still runs i said yes she runs but looking terrible- dont worry if she runs without shaking, FLY IT.
there are two things i never would sell- my old guzzi and my olympus!!!!!!!

You mean it looked like this? I did something similar to my Pegasus. It kept running but I didn't have the nerve to fly it. Like you Bennie fixed it for about $600.

While these turbines and others are built very well, I suspect that running a damaged compressor wheel or a damaged trubine wheel even if not shaking may not the safest thing to do in the interest of our hobby.
