Look at post #17, according to Bob they are hysol'ed into place[X(]
And yes the rubber stopper is inserted into the Aluminum part.

I know with the dubro versions you have the screw and plates to squeeze the stopper so that it exands on the hole.
Put me on your list......I'd need 3 for my JL F-16 tanks

Same thing here you have to have the screw and backer plate to squeeze the rubber stopper.

So what is the going price for 3 of these?

Yep, its basically an aluminum DuBro tank neck that you Hysol into the fiberglass tank. As far as the Hysol part is concerned, all BVM tanks use Hysol'ed (brass) neck fittings and all Composite ARF tanks use Hysol'ed (aluminum) ones as well. I have not yet seen a problem with the glueing part of the system.
Rich, those look fantastic, thanks! Please PM me your address again for the receivers in trade.
It looks to me like *somebody* needs to go into production. Maybe Sean you should do some after all. Perhaps Rich would send you his CAD file... Just some thoughts...

RE: fuel tank fitting
Great job Bob,
I just got a message from Rich, mine are on their way. I like what you did with the little holes around the tank hole. I guess it will work like a rivet. I don't use Hysol , I wonder how well J-B Weld will work ? I can always drop the tanks off at my flying buddies house and have him Hysol them on for me.
Has any one used this stuff before ?

Jef,
I think that Goop might work, you can buy at Walmart or any hardware store, I used it to repair a hole in my Du-Bro tank and it worked great and Jet A didn't attack it.
Bob,
your tanks look great!!! I too like the holes around the permiter...great idea!

I think that JB Weld would work, and that epoxy should also be OK as long at it doesn't get too brittle - which will likely cause it to seperate from the tanks. I'm not sure about Goop...
I would say though that if you build composite jets, you need to get into using Hysol (Aeropoxy)...
