Same as Peter, CG with UAT full and empty tanks. I'm using the pneumatic gear with jet tronics valve and 2 air tanks in // at 7 bars (105 PSI). I also do need to slow down the speed to retract the main gear successfully. Was using an electrical landing gear from Lado originally but had too many issues with it so I decided to go back to pressure !
Weight is 18.7 kg dry with batteries, cockpit, pilot and ordinance (as shown on pictures). CG is 436mm from the leading edge.

thank you, I think the model has evolved based on input from this forum. The cylinders for the main doors are now better leveraged to assist with open and close. The mains seem to function very well with the small air lines, so hopefully the issue with them not retracting in flight and requiring a high pressure system has gone away

the air-x construction and the CF formers are top notch. pretty happy with the fit an finish and construction, can't wait to get this one done.

This will be my 3rd mirage, but 1st from Fei Bao, i love the way the mirage flys and hopefully this one won't let me down either, 25lbs +/- no radio or turbine

A new video from this weekend. I have optimized the CoG but replacing the forward tank by a cylindric tank sitting on top of the 2 side tanks. The CoG does not move anymore whether dry or full during flight. No jump at take off anymore and smooth landing. Use the CG balancer from Xicoy, great tool.

Yes, same as before but no variation anymore whether dry or full, or as you can see from the Xicoy device 80mm in front of the main wheel axle.

It is a custom made tank to fit underneath the engine bay hatch, the company name is fctjet based in UK. It has a capacity of 1,4 liters, I'm carrying 3,9 liters in total.

gents started my build, doing radio gear and air line work first. I ordered a custom tank from Jet tech to duplicate what RS did. I noticed some of you have a by-pass one was not include with mine and was told it was not needed with the bell mouth pipe is that true?

Don't bother with a bypass bro. They make it more efficient at high speeds. If it was a sport plane then yes a bypass but not a scale plane.

Did not use the bypass and pipe delivered with the kit, see post #141 and the discussion around. Had to increase the pipe diameter to accommodate the 200N turbine, the original one is designed for 160N turbine.

thank you all, I got a larger pipe for the larger turbine, so I'm good.

I'm going to pint the FG tail cone and areas inside the fuse around the rear of the turbine with the BVM ceramic paint to be safe.

Excellent, I'm just wondering how can the gear door operate with the current position of the air cylinder ? on mine the gear door opens at 90°.

RS I think the new attachment of the cylinder will probably apply much better leverage that the old set up

made a mount for the tank (nice and snug) and put all the connection points (even though tight) per the manual so i don't have to remove the cockpit to access key items. I will put fuel fill to access from main hatch as well.

started bench testing this week everything working well had a very slow air leak came to find out the FB valves had a slow leak, probably good for maiden. put in much better quality fitting on the tanks and will start tubing. couple of questions for builders.

1. this is my 3rd mirage, 1st FB. neutral flight always needed a bit of up. at the fuse where does your elevon sit (roughly).
2. duct to turbine, the tanks make it hard to fit in. wow much of a gap in front of the turbine would you guys recommend.
3.

Are your main fuel tanks original or you replaced them?
over the weekend my tanks got an other hole again and flooded the engine and fuselage whale I was refueling . I am getting pin holes constantly . I am tired repairing them.
Is any one out there with replacement tanks or plastic type.
thanks ,
Nick
