Hi Gentleman - I just ordered mine with Global and exspecting it to arrive end September this year. My contact person is Cindy and she's been great. Purchase combo package, color choice camo with US Airforce markings. So here I am doing my research learn all I can and do appreciate lessons learned from others. Cheers.😉

Gentleman, I'm thinking of buying a second wing set to do the split ailerons modification. In that configuration I can set it up with conventional flaps and see if it helps with landing, not saying it's hard to land just curious. Bonus it be closer to scale.

Congratulations, by the way you cannot use flaps on a delta wing shape as the elevons act as both elevators and/or ailerons. Putting flaps on half of the elevon will create an elevator down effect and not drag for landing. To slow down the landing speed, you'll need to come with the nose up and the speed will reduce with the positive angle, you'll need to use the throttle to maintain the speed and avoid a sudden drop of the model. Hope that helps.

Thank you, as expected I'm pretty excited. Interesting, I thought if you had conventional outboard ailerons , inboard side would work as flaps. Full scale Mirage has a spit flight contol. Would have to get POH ( Pilots operating handbook ) to see if they use inboard side as flaps or just acting as full span ailerons with the outboard aileron flight controls. Fully understand high alpha for approach for induce drag. Definitely would enjoy discussing this subject in more detail seen I have time . Thanks to all - cheers.

Forgot to mention, trying the inboard as flaps I'll be using the outboard in crow.... not sure how it would work out . I have 80mm edf I can experiment with. I'm just curious to see how it would work out. I have seen plenty of videos how FB mirage lands and it lands fine .. I'm just curious and will let you know. Cheers to all.

If your onboard are flaps and outboard are crow/aileron how are you going to control pitch?

I had F18 hornet that I eventually sold. I was able to program full span flaperons when selected with the flap switch. No stick movement I had full span flaps, move the aileron stick and the corresponding inboard flap outboard aileron would come up.So I'm hoping I can program it. May take some fiddling but feel it can be done. In this case outboard ailerons would go down ( pitch down ) Inboard flaps would come up ( pitch up) . Of course would have to make sure everything working in the correct direction for roll.

No wont work as it would need a stab it is a delta it will always act as an elevator dont even try it .

This is such a fun scale jet, in a perfect size for one-man operation. Just in case if anyone had a brake leak like mine, the largest O ring from harbor freight red box assortment is a perfect replacement, of course, you wanna put lots of silicone grease in the groove before you slip the new O ring over, while you are at it, don't forget to lube the wheel bushings.

Jet arrived, it's beautiful unfortunately has received some shipping damage ... some of the damage I can fix but will it require a new replacement bell mouth (crushed) and the right wing ( tip crushed, trailing spar broken outboard of the hinge point ) ... yes dissapointing.

Can’t find my copy right now of Mirage III flight manual with description of the flight control mixing.
Suffice to say that the inboard surface of the elevons operate purely as an elevator and elevator trim. Outboard are “elevon” with mixed elevator and aileron function.

Knowing that the Mirage 2000 is a newer generation “fly by wire” I imagine the actual surfaces still function generally the same as the Mirage III/V except for leading edge device compensation.

As mentioned, normal (non canard) delta wing fighters inboard sections DO NOT/can not function as flaps.

Hi Mike, I was actually going to try it more as of a crow function but scrapping the entire idea. Fully aware Flaps cant work on Delta wing . Thanks for sharing. Right now I'm just happy I have everything to finally get started .. sometime after new years.

You might consider the one made by T1 better scale in my opinion and seems to fly nice, same size as well. The detail is great, cockpit looks better than any I have seen and I love the side door.
