Still alive!... i think. Things have been slow and generally sucked to put it mildly. Enough of that!
Soo three years later......I put together my Mig in the backyard and this sparked some activity.

More to come!

Yeah! Still going ICDF! But with a twist.
Here is an intresting view showing landinggear an things.
Well for the twist... I have become somewhat concerned about thrust.
Looking through a book about Migs i saw that they sometimes use a big ferrytank between the engine nacelles.
Why not have one of those and put a fanunit in it!?
Weird enough to be intresting. And with an 10% weight increase i can get an 50% thrust increase.
Seems like an good deal. And an Dynamax unit fits Ok.
So my Fulcrum now sports three engines!

I realize this is going to be a bit of pain but this was never gonna be your "sundaysportsmachine". But the sheer volume and size of the thing coupled with three howling engines will be an cool experience. And that what its about.
I made this one to play with! One piece, no retracts, just foam and fiberglass.
Nasa F104 paintscheme which was the thing that birthed this build.

I did a similar thing back in 1999, using a dummy drop tank to conceal the space between the engine nacelles on the 2nd gen MiG-29 I did for Topgun Aircraft. It was designed for a single engine and a bifurcated thrust tube. So the two engine nacelles were joined and the tank made it look like there were two.

Yes Brian Burcar bought the rights to Topgun Aircraft, but he is not doing much with it. Dang Shame. Steve Grey never offered it to me, I guess he thought I was too old, or didn't have enough money........LOL

Loved my Top Gun Mig-29, flew the paint off that thing. Mine was converted to a single Dynamax fan with a single thrust tube nestled between the two regular ones. Took a lot of runway to get up but once you got on step it was way faster than the Byron fan version. I would love another with a K100G in it!

so how big was these Topgun Migs? I Was thinkin, just maybe, something like that would be fun to make.
Liked your centerline tank Terry! You dont really notice the "filling between the enginepods! (which i didnt like very much)
That should also work with a Tomcat!

The Ukraine Painted one in the post above was the Prototype stolen in 1998 or 99, Can't remember which. I have another one I have never finished. I was gonna put a turbine in. (the unfinished one in the above pictures.) I got hung up doing the "Scale rotating" main landing gear. I used the wings on my Topcat. That is a story for another time............LOL

The mains dont rotate! The axles is at angles that make them seem to rotate.
Maybe these pics can give an hint. Its like 45 degres all over!
This is the Mig as it is right now! Its a three pic composite so its a bit distorted.

I know that, that was the reason for the quotation marks. And also the reason for the hold up in making the gear scale. The Gear in the painted one in the pictures above didn't rotate. They just came straight up. I modified the gear doors to clear the wheels.

I hate when things like that happens! I have been lucky or i guess i dont have anything worth taking.
Landinggear is sort of ready. They work and all that but i need to remove some material and install bushings.(is that the correct word?)
the servo which will pull the mains in! 3.6 volt screwdriver
No geardoors!
