RE: Would you buy this turbine?
If you are going to buy this s.p.o.c. (stolen piece of crap) you'd better hurry.......I just reported this auction as a stolen item to Ebay!

Do you have some evidence to share to indicate it as stolen?
Just because you do not like a brand is not reason to cause someone trouble.
There are none of the normal red flags on this auction.
This is a person that has had this account for over 9 years, 100% positive feedback, with almost 200 transactions.
He does not claim to be a modeler, he says he had this for a scooter.
Since there is a good chance that he and this auction are legit, I would be P.O.ed for someone to claim otherwise just because he did not know better than to cut the wites to get it out of wherever it was.
NO I do not know the seller or have any first hand knowledge of this item. I am just looking at the facts that I can see.
I will be curious to see your first hand facts to prove that this is a stolen item.

I just had to ask the seller questions about the cut wiring and here is his response:
Dear rcisfun,
I seem to be getting this question a lot. The ECU came this way.
The thermal couple is not cut and plugs right in.
The RPM sensor is not cut and plugs right in.
The gas solenoid does not plug into the ECU therefore does not have a connector
The pigtail for the radio interface is included but likely not needed if your radio has the standard three pin servo contol plug.
The remaining plug controls the two leads to the fuel pump and battery.
If you are afraid of these connections,
- kmburges
Hmmm an incomplete answer....

RE: Would you buy this turbine?
No different than having a car stereo ripped off! Snip snip snip, typical of a smash-n-dash rip off. If someone spends even 900 bones and puts the engine in a scooter then decides to sell it, they wouldnt just cut the wires and yank it out! The seller contacted me and was very vague and avoided giving straight answers. Maybe the person is completely ignorant of what hes trying to sell, and could care less about how to properly remove a turbine. I feel sorry for the person who may buy this engine only to be disappointed. The seller makes it out to be the greatest turbine there is! And he's probably right.......its worth every red cent of 900 bucks[:@] To some unsuspecting idiot that is...........
Sorry, but I smell a rat.

RE: Would you buy this turbine?
I wouldn't buy the engine, but with the feedback he has I would have no reason to assume it was stolen either.
The simple fact is, the seller is responsible to be honest and accurate in description. However, the Buyer is responsible to research and know what they are buying. My guess is that anyone who might bid on this engine probably already reads on RCU and knows about JetJoe OR, they are somebody who doesn't read on RCU and won't see this thread. Further to that, if they don't read on RCU and decide to buy the engine, they are taking their chances on the fact that it is a Jet Junk turbine anyway.
He hasn't tried to sell it as a Jetcat or anything that it's not. Who knows why the wires are cut, maybe he really did get it that way, maybe not.
Really though, this is truly a situation of buyer beware, if you are not educated in what you are bidding on then that is poor on the buyers part.
In this case, the seller has 100% positive feedback with over 200 feedbacks. Seems like a safe seller at least.
Just my 2 cents.

RE: Would you buy this turbine?
I would not buy one of these but this guy seems genuine. His feedback is too good and his discription of why the wires are cut is believable. I hope Ebay don't listen to to guy who said it was stolen.

Yes, I would buy it, absolutely!

Everyone on E-Bay can't be a dealer with dealer answers when asked. You sees what they sell and you pays your money. I hope e-bay leaves him alone. I'v had busy-bodies report me for nothing one time because I said "Like New" on a engine that was cranked one time. I'm like most of ya, I don't, nor will I ever need a JJ. Have sev. down stairs right now that folks have wanted me to look at for them and there's almost nothing there to work with. To Crazy4flight. save your money and buy one that you will like rather than one that will put you on nerve Meds. trying to get it to ramp. Ha. have a nice New Year to all on the jet threads here. We have 55 Knot gust right now so no flying here. Ha.

Here's another "Would you buy...?" http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=469147
Just joined RCU, zero feedback, at a price too good to be true. Gee I wonder if that's one of his NIB turbines pictured installed in that F-15?
