Thank you very much
Perhaps the first test the new design before mass production of the Mirage 2000 about 3-4 months,
IDF is also a test for me, but I did not manufacture, manufacture of the same home build.

What is the combustion chamber and fuel sticks made from?

The material of the stick is inconel.
The material of the combustion chamber is stainless steel 316. But do not worry that the stick has been done with the ring arrangement, so let stick absorbs a lot of hot, so the temperature of the combustion chamber is low. Combustion chamber has lifetime warranty.

Interesting stick arrangement. I see they are releasing a 160 size soon too.

i3dm,
I have recently bought a K80E and test ran it on a bench, all I can say is that it ran perfectly. Kingtech have always replied to any questions and requests within hours and have been extremely helpful. I have not yet flown it, but from what I can see, I would not hesitate to buy again from Kingtech.
Acceleration time is very good, start ups and spooling flawless.
Hope this helps
Regards
kkn

Hello i3dm
I have 2 King Tech K-80E’s and have flown one in 2 aircraft for about 3 hours runtime.
1. Avonds F-104 22 lbs dry
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z82WtqRedDk
2. SM Hawk (older version) 24 lbs dry (second part of video )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6APAI7Wtvo
I’m putting 2 K-80E’s in my new Jet Legend F-4, which I’m currently working on now.
Good engines: great quality, good throttle response, and good on the fuel. On my Hawk I burned about 2.5 L for a 10 min flight.

Todd, I think the display was showing about 64K RPM before starting... Do you know why?

This is caused by a Signal caught by the rpm pickup..
can be caused by : to cold plug(uses lots of amps) or rpm entangled around power lead to turbine.

Before we put them on the market.
we have tested 2 Kingtech Turbines to see what they came up with.
after doing very hard testing up to destruction levels..( to say the least)
ours had bearing failures (front bearings) after 4 hours , but then at the rpm,s and abusing we runned them at.
4 hours was a long time..., and i was suprised it did not blow up earlyer..
at the set rpms they are sold at (145.000) it will not break.
average flighttime is about 8-11 minutes on 2,5 liters.
where 8minutes is my flightstyle and the 11 minutes by our employee
chamber is made of SS 0.6mm steel , this chamber wil last hundreds of hours ..
the Sticks are inconel, all very good made.
Kerostart:
because of the thickness of the chamber and the type sticks used , this turbine is very hard to get rebuild to start on kerosine.
the fuel does not get Pre-Heated up to good resulting in hot/wet starts sometimes.
this also caused our premature faillure on the bearings..
so we have put the kerostart in the fridge for the moment..
when there is more time in the winter will give it a go again..
Gastart:
still my favourite , from start to idle in less then 20 seconds..
we will be selling them also under our own name.
with the main difference we will be using Flightwork pumps and Fadec Fuel and gas valve,s.
and our own small ECU as used by Wren.. (software by Gaspar).

Todd looks good so far, now looking forward for some inflight fun with it. BTW cant believe it got here next day, that was fast...
Love the M90 it's hard to believe all that power comes out of that little turbine.

If you stop the frame at 11 or 12 seconds you can see during the "glowtest" the RPM reads 64200 and then 64100
It is caused by the RPM sensor picking up interference from the glow driver in the ECU
It must be the rate at which the ECU "chops" the DC supply to the plug.
I had this in my Wren at one time, and to cure it Wren advised me to twist the red and black supply wires to the pug around each other.
