Default Honda HA-1 business jet

Hello,

on my Google-search for the Honda business jet, I landed first in this sub forum:

[link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6466819/tm.htm[/link]

First post I wrote is #21.

Because I want to equip this plane with two Lambert microturbines, I changed to here.
Sorry for my english, I´m out of training but I´ll inform you of the next steps if you are interested.

Here are some pictures from the works still done and the turbine dummy (one with autostart, one with handstart)

Hi,

did some more works. Hope I can finish the wing mounts and glue the elevator and rudder on the fuselage this weekend.
The Servo for elevator is now in the inside, you only see the servo horn, the retracts fit good, hope I get the struts soon.

Airforce One,

Where are you going to place the servo for the rudder? Could you please post pics of the installation of the rudder servo?

Thanks,

Saul

Hello Saul,

for the rudder servo, it´s planned to use a HS-56HB. Today I`ll find out, whats the best position is imho.
Then I´post more pics but I´m very buisy so there isn´t much time left for my hobby

There is another Site for microturbine Jets too, but it´s only in german.

You may want to evaluate your servo selection, I would assume that this will weigh in at least 10 lbs wet. The HS-56 is a park flyer servo, it may be fine for the rudder???
The HS-125 wing servos has been know to strip gears (they are very small), not sure if it is a good fit for a critical flight surface such as the elevator.

Here are the torque specs and the description for the Hitec HS-56

Stall Torque (4.8V): 14 oz/in. (1kg.cm)
Stall Torque (6.0V): 16 oz/in. (1.2kg.cm)

The Hitec HS-56HB continues the Hitec tradition of affordable performance. Featuring precision components that have been engineered to provide long lasting trouble free service. The HS-56HB is the perfect choice for any micro application from indoor R/C and hand launch gliders, to ultra small electric Park and Yard flyers, Speed 400 and 1/2A powered
aircraft.

Here are the torque specs for the HS-125

Stall Torque (4.8V): 41.66 oz/in. (3kg.cm)
Stall Torque (6.0V): 48.6 oz/in. (3.5kg.cm)

I like the project, keep the photos comming

Hi,

made a little mistake. I meant the HS-65HB for the rudder. It is very small and I think it is used only for start an landing.
The HS-125 is more then strong enough for the elevator. The Honda is for dynamic flights and not for hard 3D or high speed.
The HS-125 is very often used in my Kolibri models an I´d never had any problems.
Now the tubes for the wingmount are glued, tonight I´ll glue the vertical and the horizontal stabilizer on the fuselage.
After that the nacels can be fixed and the turbine mounts can be prepared.

Uhh, bad news.
The by the manufacturer planned compound of the two elevator blades does not work. It depends on the angle of the two blades, can´t explain in english.
But if you try to move the blades you feel a resistance. If you look at the picture, may be you can see where the problem is (angle of the blades).
To get a good solution, I try to use a second servo (one for each blade) and separate the blades.
The other picture is, how I fixed the rudder-servo (it is a HS-81 that I found in my collection).

Airforce one,

That was the main problem reported by many people who built this plane. Because of this I was planning on adding a servo for each elevator half. Please post picks of your set up. Thank you Airforce One.

Hi Saul,

the problem is solved. I glued a second HS-125 with silikone on the other. The other side of the servo I´ll glue on the cover of the servo cutting if it is necessary.
If I use silicone, I can open the cutting again and can change a servo in case of damage if the plane isn´t destroyed from the damaged servo
Tomorrow I post a pic.

Hello,

here are the promised pics.
The compound of the two servos is very strong so that I can use only the foil to close the cutting.
Hope the problem ist solved, that if you want to fly a loop and the airplane makes a roll

Oh, I´m sorry, no new pics.
I was very buisy for the last time. Hope next week there is time enough to continue.
I only glued the vertical stabilizer to the fuselage. The fuselage is a little bit like a banana, the stabilizer is a little bit like a banana, so it was not really easy to find a good looking and fitting position. [][][]

Hello, here i am again.
Did some little works. Last week the gearstruts from Behotec arrived, today I found a little bit time to fix them.
Don´t know if I can do more until the 18th of April. At this weekend we have our 2nd Lambert-Turbine-Meeting in our club near Ramstein/Kaiserslautern and I have a lot to do with organisation.
All visitors and Pilots (also without a Lambert turbine) are welcome.
The homepage is (only in German) www.msc-glantal.de

Bye
