That's pretty cool!!!!! Are you building the big or the small FB F-5? Hard to tell from the photos/video.
Regards,
Jim

RE: Fei Bao F-5 Build
Thanks Sean!!!
I only had to run my boss to Orlando and back today, so no overnights!
So instead got some more work done on the F-5. Finished one aux intake louvre. The louvres on the real airplane opened in high thrust, low airspeed situations to allow more air into the engines (cheater holes). Mine are servo operated and will be opened when the gear goes down.

Both aux vents are glued in and working. The rudder is also complete. I had to glue in a couple of spacer to allow a better gluing surface for the rudder hinges.

RE: Fei Bao F-5 Build
I decided to put a drag chute on also, so while waiting for the chute I made the the door out of a supplied piece that was supposed to be glued in place. Started by marking the center, then cutting a small piece of piano hinge, then marking and cutting a pocket for the rare earth magnet and hinge. The next was to cut a slot in the fuselage to accept the hinge and then glue the hinge and magnet to the door. The glue is Hysol 9640F it is grey when mixed, but dries in half the time and is close the Hysol 9642 strength. I believe the magnets will be strong enough, it holds the door in place through my finger.

RE: Fei Bao F-5 Build
I got my drag chute in today from Dan at Details4scale, all I have to say is, what a piece art work! First off I outlined the door for chute tube placement, then marked the chute tube location. I drilled holes using a piece of scrap ply for a backer board. Then I used an x-acto saw blade to cut between the holes. Using a dremel, I sanded to the chute tube outline. The fit was perfect. I flipped the plane over to access through the belly. I had to offset the ram to miss the internal rudder shaft and servo. The ram will mount to the forward bulkhead using a 1/4 piece of plywood. The Chute tube will be glued to the upper fuselage with an attach point for the Chute cable. More later...
