Alex,

Jose's L-39 is great looking, and fast. What turbine is in it?

I'm envious of your flying site, it looks very nice.

Best, Jim

Jim, turbine is a Rhino. We still have to work in the struts springs. They looks with some fatigue. This is not a new airplane. He got it second hand. But for Jose it is a new one. Engine is brand new. I manage to insert some wooden dowels inside the struts last night and they help in the beef up. Any way we are looking a newer set of stronger springs. Also we still have to work with the CG, that fly was very nose heavy. BTW plane weight 40 pounds dry, and with a gallon of fuel it might end up in 48pounds. Plane is at .9 ratio dry. Rhino just proved her power one more time. After we sort all the bugs I hope Jose gets ready to try again. In the mean time he will continue flying his lovely Euro Sport. Thanks for your inputs.

Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex, I machined a 5/8 spacer to go inside the strut on the AW L-39 It firms up the gear nicely. No more Waddle down the runway. Much easier than replacing the springs. Mike

Looks good biatch. I didn't know it was that big. That Rhino really moves it around.
Congrats on the maiden!
