I've got one and will soon start the build. The plane is intended for a P-60 or equivalent but I may drop a P-70 in. The pieces fit together quite well, particularly the inlets/inlet duct. Should be a fast build as the plane is very simple and uses tailerons for roll control.

Jim

I have the Feibao small F-5. I'm flying it on a Jet Central Super Bee and JR radio. The plane flies very well without flaps and Ailerons. I have some pictures and I did see a video of myself flying the plane on Youtube, But I can't find it on there anymore. I have about 10 flights on the plane now and I can't wait to fly it around somemore this year.

The plane was very easy to assemble. The quality of the plaint was great.

I was looking at this plane also, unfortunately I don't think the rough fields in my area can handle it. Here are the youtube vids that Dewey made, I really enjoyed these videos.

Thanks for posting those links for those Video's. I have only looked at the first video once because it is to embarrassing to watch.LOL. I do hope the video will help. I do plan on trying to redo a video with better lighting and a more structured conversation about the products. When I get some of my projects finished and I get extremely bored then I can think about another video. Many people are a little scared to purchase this plane just because of the no flaps and Ailerons. You can see that the plan does fly very stable in all phases of flight. Here are a couple Pictures of the F-5 when I was test flying the airplane.

Dewey,

There isn't an instruction manual for this plane (at least not on the FB site). What control throws and C.G. location do you recommend?

Regards,

Jim

I'm not sure what the exact weight of the plane is, but I can weight it when I get a chance. I did weigh the plane dry last winter. It weighed 15.0 LB Dry. So I think the plane is around 17.5 LB with Fuel.

For the CG and control throws I will have to go back and look at everything once I get home.

Just finished mine , also. what an easy, fun jet to assemble. here is a pic of my p-70 install. I haven't flown it yet but am betting it is going to be a winner.

Burt,
i never thought about it but this jet would be a perfect candidate for Tam's TJ 100 EDF. I have one of them and it is an absolute work of art. I have it in an unfinished 1/12 TAM F-16.

Burt,

Yes there is a EDF conversion that we are testing right now, we flew the F5 and it flies very good, the maiden was done with Stumax fan and Neu motor, but we are testing another motor brand. Problem is the plane has been tested in NY and is to cold to continue right now so we are waiting for better weather.

From what I read, its a tailerons controlled model... so no ailerons.

Wagner,

Thanks for the info. What amount of taileron throw is suggested for roll control?

you got me on that one, ragz. OK let me rephrase the question.............how much taileron throw for roll function. I understrand the 25 MM for pitch control but I also need throws for roll control.

From what I have seen, since I have one, it is a taileron only control system. [X(]

I can look at my plane when I get home to let you know all the throws I have. The problem is that I don't get home until Sunday. I can post all my throws on the pitch and roll of the airplane. I just can't remember what I used, so I have to go and remeasure all my control throws. When I first flew the plane I flew it nose heavy and each flight I took off weights Just to make sure the CG was ok. I'm now flying the plane at a CG location that Wagner Posted on this form. Once I do get home I will recheck everything and let you guys know the throws and any other changes.

Thanks
