Everything was fine with it. The nose comes off to access the batteries and the cockpit was off. Just getting her ready for a long day of flying. I think I got 9 flights on that one alone that day.
Rons Viper= Smoke
Billys Viper= silver leading edges
Just got back late Sat night, dead tired but I would like to thank the Speedworld crew for a great , well run event. I had soooo much fun. Can't wait till next year already. Will comment more in the morning after I get some sleep.

Finally got a chance to attend a "no grass" (i.e West coast/Az), jet event this weekend at Speedworld. Wow! What a great facitlity and great bunch of guys! Fantastic cross section of jets and top notch, non-stop flying. Thanks for the hospitality and especially to Jim Hamm for giving me a little stick time on his Flash!
Got to meet or re-acquaint with a bunch of guys I "know" through RCU but rarely see East of the Misissippi. I can't match Joe's flying shots so I'll post a few "people" pictures (one of Uncljoe's tips), so a few more East coasters can put a name with a face.
The guy with the beautiful silver F-100 is Dan Avilla from Sacrameno, the "red coats" are Paul Bageman and Kent Nogy and I am between Cactus Flyer and Dave Rogetti (sp?) behind the A-7.

Here's some more;
Greg Moore (JPO Contrails editor from Colorado) and Jason Somes standing behind and soon to be maidened Thunderbird (Skymaster) F-4, Lewis Patton and David Searles with David's big Hawk, Dave Presta with his Blue Angel F-4 and Billy Edwards next to his A-10. Finally got to see Billy fly his Hog and it was impressive!
(Sorry I'm in so many of these pics but I was trying to document that I was really there)

Here is Arizonasun 25 himself, Ron Long! Can't help but smile when you're around that guy! May have to try and make it to the event he is hosting in October. And of course, Tam. I guess everybody recognizes him.
The last shot is some "night action" and some pretty fancy lights and "afterburners".
Wish I had gotten pics of Alaska Bob, Matt Carroll, Kenny Falconer, Sung, Vincent and a bunch of others. Guess I'll just have to go to CA Jets in April.

Hi Craig, it was nice seeing you as well.
Had a great time as usual, those Speedworld guys know what they are doing.
BTW did anyone grab my taxi tank, it was the only 50 ounce Dubro........looks just like an overgrown glo fuel tank, second one I have left in 2 events :-(
See you guys later, Tucson then CA Jets

What an event! To many to thank! It was without a doubt FIRST CLASS! Terry, thanks for the best Italian dinner ever and all that you did for us "Cali" guys while we were there. You really did it up right. The crew and staff at Speedworld was unreal! From the flight line guys to the taxi run off crew and food staff, you were all great!
If you missed this event, you missed a good one. Perfect weather and great friends burnin lots of kero.
Lewis "The General" Patton, it was great to see you again after ALL these years. Good to rekindle old friendships over some kero!
All the Cali guys, you put a major dent in the "naner bread"! Have to restock for Cali jets! See you all there and thanks again Speedworld staff...you are all the best!

2. Drag Racing with Big Scrimp and the Lou mobile.
3. Drag racing with Dan A!!!! "My hearts Pounding"
4. The 3 min pre gong for the big F-16 landing.
5. The gong in general!!!!!
Too many to list... Had a great time with lots of hard flying.

Well anyone from out west knows Mr. Silz, I firmly believe he has more turbine flights than anyone else in the world. Any time you hear someone up early, it is him. I was trying to even keep track of his plane at maybe 9:00 AM, tough conditions.
He is a good spotter too.

The command center. This club is very determined to make this event successful, with a lot of investment in money and manpower. This makes for a very nice event.
As someone else said they laid out a very nice steak dinner on Friday, including beer. I even got table service for a second round. incredible.
EDIT: the spitwads were a nice touch as well
