dw, why ask marc if he has ever owned a jet joe? are you saying, if he hasnt, then he should have no comment. i heve never blown my hand off with dynamite, but i know not to. so what is the point. there has been many post here and in other places about the quality of jet joe and it is common knowledge. by your own admission from your conversations you have had with them. i wish jet joe well, maybe it will bring down the price of turbines, but first they must dramaticaly improve their quality, second, quit copying other people's intlectual property. it doesnt matter to me if it copyrighted or patented or not. i want support a company that copies. my money will stay in my wallet, others may and can freely chose to do what they want with their money, just saying what i will do. barry

I could not disagree more. The history of JetJoe quality is VERY relevant to this thread. Sure, we don't have to talk about other brands. But we SHOULD discuss the issues with quality that MANY Joe buyers in the past have experienced. That should make anyone considering a JJ purchase in the future think twice... no 58 times.
Marc,

Have you ever owned a JetJoe engine?

But Marc ... the people who you previously saw eating doo-doo, and who told you it tasted like krap, were eating doo-doo versions 1 through 18.

The new and improved doo-doo version 19 is WONDERFUL. Yes, I know that's exactly what was previously said about versions 2 through 18, but it really might be true this time, especially if you really WANT it to be true.

Barry,

Exactly, my point. As a OWNER, I had to go through the growing pains. But, now, I see that JetJoe has reached a stage where they my experience has shown:

1) A attitude to learn and correct errors.
2) Being reasonable fair to customer that went through the growing pains.
3) The product appears to be functional, at a level, equal to the price you paid for it. No more or less.

So, instead of harping on old news....let's talk about today...Kinda like, remember the first Datsun 210, scrap box, then they grea and learned. So where ther are today. JetJoe ain't Nissan...But who says they aren't improving and learning.

As for copying....I stated my view. They all did it at one time, in some form....Some worse than others. It is personal choice and again lets stop harping on it. Let's be constructive! In the end, I curse your pal ET for selling the JJ1400. And, I thank him for making me learn how to get a turbine to work.

Good quality doo-doo version 19 is a fluke, Gordon. I'm waiting for doo-doo version 286.

Oh man, I don't know about you Marc, but personally I'm absolutely devastated to know that someone whose opinion I hold in such incredibly high regard, doesn't like us.

But maybe there's still hope... maybe one day when I grow up I will be allowed change my RCU id to Bigpistin. Sigh ... I can but hope.

LittlePiston,

If you want a real good laugh.....A friend sent me some rantings from RCF, JetJoe Junior thread. Seems everyone's favorite New Yorker is bragging he has a early production engine. But get this, he won't tell anybody about it because of my experience with JetJoe's. I have no idea what that has to do with anything? Guilt? Maybe, U2fast, Woketman or another friend of his can get him to pass the info on to us here. I'd like to read his thoughts on the Junior given what he has said in the JetJoe Owners Thread.

It would be nice to read about someone who ACTUALLY claims to own and run one of these engines. Wouldn't we all like to read of actual experience.....

Barry,

Would he tell you anything else? What's the secret? What's isn't being said? Just a simple concise review of what he found.

I'm still trying to find this "price difference" reference made by so many big name turbine proponents. I see the same amount of complaints and praise either way. Me personally. I"ll wait until you all have driven the price of big names down, before I spend the money to own the big name. For now, I'll deal with JJ. The research on either side is the same from what I've personally found over the last 6 months.

I'll also deal with JJ because of the fraud that was attempted on them with the "you're not an AMA sanctioned turbine manufacturer, so you need to stop making them" bull crap.

Sounds like the one our local hobby shops. "You can't buy or fly a turbine in this town unless it's from me, you're an AMA member, and you are certified by the club." BS

Thank God for the internet, delivery companies, dry lake beds, and really wide open spaces.
