Air cylinder close to turbine
I was considering installing the air cylinders above the turbine, like in the picture. Any concern about possible air temperature increase during flight and consequently air pressure increase?

I saw that.
But my fuel tank is not the original one. I have two dubro tanks and both together are narrow and taller than the original one. Installing the air cylinders behind will help me menage my space. I still have scale cockpit and smoke tank...

I think we cracked the nut on this plane WRT consistent landings - CROW!
The three of us that have CARF Hawks in our group added 3/8" of crow to the ailerons with full flaps and the airplane settles very nicely now without any tendency to "hang" (stop descending when the nose is raised, even a little bit), or drop a wing. It seems to be relatively independent of the exact CG placement, which is nice, and even if the plane bounces from a rough runway, it seems to remain "stuck".
In all, it has made the landings a much less nerve-racking affair... Thanks to Smitty for clueing us into that.

Turbine final installation.
Here is a point to present a question. Merlin 140 has a shorter than usual outlet cone. In order to keep around one inch space between the end of the turbine and the funnel/pipe interface I would need to keep the turbine to much aft.
Therefore, can I leave the turbine no so aft, around two inch distance?

I may have to try that crow. I have gotten very used to the way my Hawk lands after so many flights but it does "hang" if the nose is raised too high on landing. That is a good way to describe it. If I have too much AOA it will just level off and decelerate in level flight until a wing drops. I am very careful not to let the nose get too high. 3/8" sure sounds like a lot though! But I may creep up on it.
