All of the jet suitable JR servos run 5.9v. In England the 8711 is plastic cased and 8911 has the metal centre. The 8711 is now discontinued, so just the 8911 is available. Never overkill with servos, if you give them an easy life they will use less current and last longer!

Could someone confirm what the front landing and main landing gear pin sizes are?

They look to be the 8 - 10 mm sizes... but I'd like to know before I get mine

Thx in advance

The mains are 10mm. The nose doesn't have a pin. Either the top half of the strut will bend or the trunion will distort. Don't ask how I know

Helle fireblade 5437,
would it be possible to sell one of the probes you perfectly made to me in Germany? How much do you charge?

Regards,
Darren

There is still one more option. Tread on plywood will give in first and whole nose gear assembly will tear the back edge of wheel bay. Again don't ask Maybe even worse to fix. It kinda depends. But in short landing gear is very sturdy.

Someone is trying to sell a CARF Hawk gear set on RC Groups but it is missing the main gear actuators.

Question about scale details on Carf Hawk, on the pictures on post 2133, there is a lot of details with wingfence, air intakes on top of fuselage, APU inlet, scale hinges on flaps ect. Do it come like this from CARF, or where do you get the scale parts, because when I look at the pictures on CARF homepage the plane is without the scale details?

oesterling - The plane comes with limited scale details. Most of those can be seen on CARF homepage hardware set picture. Those can be used for antennas and bigger details only. Molded pitot base, pair of bunny ears, two wing fences, pair of rear fuselage fins, set of gear doors and stab root plates - thats pretty much it.

So no Pitot, canopy/cockpit details, APU intake/exhaust, flap hinges or aileron hydraulic servo casings. Quite accurate panel lines tough.

Hope this helps.

/Jyri

I have the dummy flap fences moulded for mine, we sold a few sets only. Easily made from 10mm balsa with glass cloth cover.
The Grills are something we offer, APU you cutout and line with a tube, paint inside black. Pilot tube from Alan on here.
The outline is very good, it can be really scale as you will see looking back through this thread.

Love my Hawk. Anyone use the after market metal hinges on the nose gear doors instead of the stock method? Would love to see pics of you have them.

Not metal sharam but after market stuff anyway. Some plywood spacers underneath to level up hinge line. See pic.

I have been adding scale stuff all winter but progress is too slow. Some weight dremelled from the fuselage and some rivets and holes. Still empty shell and not an aeroplane. Just need to find motivation somewhere to get it flying again for the summer.

ps. anyone having scale retracts just lying around. I'd like to upgrade

Does anyone know if comp arf still sells any of the detail pieces like the top intake scoops?

How does one get those nice looking rivets on the model like in post 2142?

Thx in advance for any input

The scoops are now included in all kits. They are available as a part.

ZAP 56 in a syringe is normal.

Im just copying old stuff not inventing anything novel... see posts #2067 - #2069. Just tapping droplets with sharp steel wire. The glue I use is standard PVA-c wood glue. Lots of time... Thats pretty much it.

But beware it is very nerve intensive job Still not complitely finished mine.
