Default RCJM magazine service

Has anyone else had such abysmal service from these folks, or am I just lucky?

I ordered 3 in-stock back issues more than a month ago. My cc was billed immediately and I waited the suggested 10-14 days for delivery. Then I began calling the USA office almost daily for updates, only to be told that the UK office was repeatedly ignoring email and phone requests from the USA office for info. Finally, after approx two weeks of nagging and more than a month after placing the order, I have FINALLY been told to expect delivery in ANOTHER 10-14 days, which will equate to 6 weeks + for delivery , IF I recieve the issues then.[:@]

Personally I would love to have a *reliable* subscription to RCJI. I tried for several years to get one and could never get them to make it happen until there were at Florida Jets one time and I signed up there. I had it for a year and then when it came time to renew, I tried 3 or 4 times to get the renewal processed and they never did it, so I gave up. Their circulation could probably be 2, 3, or perhaps more times larger than it is now if they weren't such lousy business people...

I have had a subscription since Jul last year. I think I have received maybe 2-3 editions. Repeated phone calls and emails and told it would all be fixed. Nought...

I even contacted a an RCJI representitive on here that would know what was going on inside the company and have just been ignored. So to the editor, when you read this, please reply to my pm from a month ago and sort this s#@t out!

Now I have paid a subscription and have to buy the magazine again to read.

Good luck to anyone that wants a subscription.

I paid one year subscription and get some back issues and one DVD on January 6/09 and after many phone calls directly to England, finally I received my order on February 3, almost one month after I have placed the order.

My suggestion:

Call directly to Traplet England or write to Paul Davis at:

[email protected]

Although their service is slow, I like this magazine.

Regards

Guillermo

My experience was the same, both with subscription service, and with a back-issue order. That was 5+ years ago, and it appears nothing has changed in the interim. Only got a few of my subscription mags, and never received the back issues. But did receive several renewal requests on time.

I like the magazine, but will only buy them at the local hobby shop, when available.

last - why should a customer have to call and follow up to "remind" Traplett to send items you promptly paid for?

Oh my. This does not sound good at all. I just subscribed and am starting to think it was a mistake.

I will PM David Gladwin (he writes for them, doesn't he?). I'm sure he has no direct responsibilities that fall in this department, but perhaps he has the ear of someone that actually gives a rats ***** whether this should be the mag's reputation.....

I hear what you say, gentlemen and I will email Tony Stephenson MD, at Traplet. Please be advised that I am just a contributor (to give you guys something to read !) and I am not directly involved.

I believe Tony will be at Florida Jets so do make your comments made known to him then and there.

I will do what I can from this end.

Best regards,

David G.

Hi,
I have been running Traplet Publications Australia for some 9 years now - and we have built up a great customer base, covering Australia, NZ and Asian countries.
We supply direct from stock in Sydney books, back issues, magazine subscriptions, VHS and DVD', magazine binders, and plans.

We will ALWAYS let our customers know if there is a problem. And we fix problems quickly, if any.

Need RCJI back issues, we have them. And the exchange rates for USA are good.

If you can't get from your local supplier, throw us an email, and we will try and sort for you.

Best regards

Hi Everyone

I have only just picked up this thread. I thought it was about another magazine. I see that action has already been taken but I will mail the Traplet office and lend my weight to ensure you get satisfaction to your problems.

I've subscribed on and off through the years to various Traplet publications and even bought the occasional single issues.
So far everything has gone smoothly so I can't complain about the level of service I've recieved. [8D]

No connection to Traplet other than having 3 published articles in the now defunct RCSI some years back.

hi
I had a similiar problem years ago
i bought a 2 year subscription at a jet event in Canada
Paid cash - NEVER recieved an issue
now i only purchase at LHS when i see something i like.
It Is a terrible shame that a magazine SO good Has been screwed up from what seems like day one
I have issues all the way back to issue 2
i still look at them today
I remember when they thought 44 pages was such a big deal
It was THE BEST MAG. FOR THE HOBBY I HAVE SEEN

Tony,

If you are serious, I would contact all of the guys who posted here (all very serious jet guys - just the type your advertisers want to reach) and make arrangements to get them a subscription. We'd all pay for it, but we shouldn't have to beg or deal with these kinds of problems...

Well, after I started this thread and saw that so many others were having troubles too I REALLY got worried.

I must say, though, that someone must have finally recieved a kick in the pants from someone else higher up. I did recieve my back issues plus the new issue just released.

Now I am just keeping my fingers crossed for the remainder of my subscription..........
