Wren Turbines Open Day
Wren Turbines are holding the next Open Day at the factory on Sunday 19th April from 10am-4pm. They will be building and running engines and all the latest Wren engines will be demonstrated. I am sure everyone who is interested, and would like to learn more about Wren turbines will be made most welcome.
I also heard a rumour that cakes could be available also.
Alistair.

Well, my engine will be there, even if I can't make it........

(This is where I really miss Treadstone, he loved Open Days and would probably have pushed a cryptic note into the box with your engine ...)
Everyone welcome on Sunday, the rumour about cakes was not unfounded, I've started baking already.

I SO wish i could attend one of these!!!
My 160 arrived Monday morning and we test ran it Monday evening. What an awesome beautiful animal this engine is. I can't believe how fast and smooth the spoolup is. From half to full power is virtually instant. I just wish i could make it to one of these open days so i could see inside one of these beauties. These open days sound like so much fun and a lot of learning!!
Regards, Scott

any update on the wren kero start?
any update on the wren kero start?
As always, we have all sorts of interesting things to show our visitors. Customers will be building the latest version of the Wren 54 kit - except it's not the 54 anymore, it's the Wren 70 kit, in recognition of its 70N thrust. And perhaps the elusive and much anticipated production version Wren 44 helicopter engine will be putting in an appearance ...
So sorry, Gordon, we can't have Open Day in December, it's too cold and wet here in the UK!

I already know that your turbines are all they are cracked up to be, but I'm really not so certain about those elusive cakes… they surely can't be as great as some make out, so I wanted to do an onsite review on behalf of RCU.
Your apparent unwillingness to allow this unbiased cake testing session to proceed, suggests that there may in fact be a grain (!) of truth in the rumours I heard about you guys ; the story goes that you pilfered the cake recipe from the good Chinese folks at CakeJoe but are struggling to match the quality control needed to ensure the correct ratio of melamine to lead and sawdust.
Uh-huh ! It's all coming out now !
Oh well – someone please take lots of pic's at the open day, and let us see what's going on.

What do you want to know?
I think the newest toy was the Wren 44 heli engine. They are also working hard at getting the 160s out the door as they have proved quite popular. I didn't pick up on any major announcements but it was a good day nonetheless and I did get to collect 2 new Wren 44 Golds for my A-10 project

RE: Wren Turbines Open Day
Thanks everyone, we had a really good day. Four customers bought and built the new Wren 70s from the kit, and all four engines ran well and were taken home by happy owners. The first production batch of the new Wren 44 helicopter engine was on show, with one engine for customers to hold and examine and another one run on the test stand, showing how quiet yet powerful this engine is. I'm posting some more details on the website.
