Default Jetcat P180 Mounting Strap

Guys,

I am currently swapping the booster 160 in my Skygate Hawk for a JetCat P180.

Something I have noticed (other than the unexpected size difference of the turbines) is that the mounting strap on the P180 would be much easier to work with if I could move it forward so that it is all in front of the glow plug instead of having the glow plug inbetween the straps as per usual.

Is there any issue in moving the strap all infront of the glow plug???

Rgds,
Mark

You could use it that way but, like Mr Del gato comments what about during a hard landing, I would go with the mount on the front of the glow plug but I would also add a half mount fix to the engine's wood mount in the back to support the back of the engine during hard landings, the engine's back will just seat there so it will be ease to remove when neede.

You could make the half from what ever is avilable to you ( metal ) or just buy from somebody's half of a mount ( I know there are some out there with strip screw holes you could get ) also one screw to the rear mount in the front is enough.

Good luck.

Sorry mine is not for sale

i dont see any problem , if your strap brakes or bends due to a hardlanding , there is more to be worried about.

as long your engine cant move forwards due to the thrust your ok..

Hi Mark,

As others have mentioned, you will have a pretty large torque load on the mount. My guess is that the mount would bend in a hard landing before the case would dent but that is just a guess.

Good luck,
