RE: The Wex's FEJ F-14 build thread
I saw this Kit at L.A. Jets this weekend. One word impresive! It looks like it is first quality. I know Master builder Billy Edwards was talking to Wex about building it. If that happens I know we will all get a honest review and a top quality jet build. Looking forward to the maiden. If she flys as good as she looks I will be in the long line ahead of me with my order slip in my hand.

Buck- Just measured the tanks.....There is a three tank sytem per motor. Capacity measured out to be 122 oz total for the three tanks. (244 total for both.) I would think with the 160's , we should be looking at 7 maybe 8 minute flights.

I hope they have the Pneumatics down, I just spent 6 hours Pulling the mains out of My FEM F-15 and honing the cylinders and turning the plastic pistons, and re O-Ring ing the pistons. Finally stopped the blow by. I replaced both valves with ROBART. I hope the new stuff is better than the old.

Pneumatics, heck, I hope the wing box doesn't collapse (I don't like the way the top cross-members are shaped and the fact that the two aluminum pivot boxes have wood between them and those cross members) or the pipe doesn't blow up!
Looks very good on the outside though, like all FEJ products...

Thanks John. It really looks great in person. The quality is great as well. We'll see about the build....
Thanks Uncle Joe for the great shots! You make that camera sing!!!! We all sure appreciate the time and hard work you put into it for us to have.
As for the F-14 build, we have come up with the "dream team"!! This is going to be a joint effort to make this a great flying as well as looking jet!
Billy Edwards has agreed to do the build (without a doubt one of the best master builders out there) with the help of Paul Bagman (retired F-14 pilot), Smokin' Joe McBride and the crew at RC Jets Direct. We really think with all the knowledge between us all, we can git 'er done!!!
We will post the pictures and build as we go.
Here's just a few more shots for now.
Thanks everyone for all the interest. (and yes, we even have new pilots to replace the "Martian heads"!

Jonas, it is an install but there is lots to be done. Billy is the best around and he wants to see how its all done as well as I wanting his knowledge. Just more "tricks of the trade" involved.

The best to you TJ...that's a lot of work. I have seen several Yellow fly and they do fly well. Just to small for me and to long to build!!

Hi Wex, Yeah you're right but having had it so long I feel obliged to finish it and fly it. Actually when I bought ti it was big......how times have changed. Difficult to get it done while I can enjoy flying my BVM KC and UB. One problem I have is when I bought it they supplied me with the F-18 Twin nose gear. You know where I can get a new Yellow F-14 nose gear retract and strut.
