Default "Pics UP" BoomerangXL 2 with 45lb Behotec 180 Gold Kero

Retired the "Rescue BoomerXL" and handed the transplant over to Killroy Richardson who kindly took to my demands asking for a "over the top project" with this new BoomerangXL2 Build.

Thanks Killroy for your attention to detail and unlimited custom ideas and techniques!
Thanks Peter @ Altecare for your service before, during, and after purchase!
Thanks Patricia @ BoomerangJets for the great service as always and the private tour of the Boomerang Warehouse!

Just wanted to share with the forum:

HI Eric, maybe he wont blow the wings off, if he keeps his snap rolls under 150mph.

Thanks Mugenkidd. I hope this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure hope to not rip the wings off. More like fasst unlimited veticals and slow approach to rocket-up crowd pleasing smoke shows.

We came in at 34lbs dry on this build. With the big turbine, we felt unlimited in just about anything we wanted to do. So, after all the optional painting, custom tanks, custom brackets, and glass......we are pleased.

The BoomerXL2 is able to stay up so long, we had a joke one day at our field it was like a FlyingTanker. Keeping with that tradition, I tried to make that a reality with the custom, largerfuel and smoke tank.

Here I thought that Iwas doing well to be installling a Titan, boy you sure broke my bubble!

I like your tanks, did you make more than one set, if so send me a PM and we can discuss.

One other question on C.G., it looks like the turbine is failrly far aft, how much ballast was required???

Thanks and good luck with the maiden.

Andy,

Just how much fuel do you carry?

And how thirsty is the B. 180?

Readyturn, sorry to burst your bubble. Your Titan will do everything you want and more! I just might reach the stars first, but we both will be speed limited by the frame. I think 185mph is tops regardless. As for tanks,Killroy has the mold, but you have to supplyhim with the optionalCompArfLightning tank which comes in two halves which he forms together. Very reasonable. If he would chime in here, you could probably talk him intobuilding you one.

Crazy4Flight, I carry 5 liters of fuel or 169oz or 1.3gal not counting UAT.

Here are the Behotec specs:

Diameter: 113mm
Length: 320mm
Weight: 1.6kG - 3.5Lbs
Max. thrust: 180N - 43Lbs
Min. thrust: 1.8lbs
Fuel consumption@ max.thrust: 580ml/min
Exhaust gas temperature@ max.thrust: 680°C
Fuel: Jet A1, Kerosene, Diesel, (+5% turbine oil)
Acceleration: 35.000 – 120.000 rpm in less than 4s

180N are 40lb, not 45.

Will you measure the real thrust?

Thanks Petercantropus. Actually, 180N is 43lbs per website and as answered in another Behotec thread, this certification has been measured and confirmed by all the proper governing bodies and certified.

I would be eager to measure real thrust (static) since rumor has it they are modest with their factory ratings.
