Default Skymaster Hawker Hunter

OK, just dreaming, but probably got your attention.

I think this is one of the classic jet aircraft, and has largely been ignored in the model world.

The only (available) kits I'm aware of are the following;

Mick Reeves 1/6th scale
HT Modellbau, 1/8th, 1/6.8 and 1/4.5 scale
Airworld 1/5th scale

Prices seem to range from GBP600 for the Mick Reeves basic kit, to EUR2200 (2006 quote) for the 6.8 scale HT Modelbau basic kit, and from a builders kit to fully molded. I don't have price details on the Airworld kit, but probably close to EUR 3000.

I would love to see a 1/6th to 1/7th scale Hawker Hunter F6/ FGA9 done to the current Skymaster ARF Pro standards, and at a price point similar to their current models, in the USD1500-2000 range, suitable for 17-24lb classs engines.

I think a model in this size would sell well, and would compliment/ be a change to the F86 and T33 that have been modelled for years. Maybe even a smaller 1/7 to 1/8th scale one for the smaller 14lb engines as well.

Let's start a Skymaster Hunter petition, and see if we can get them to add one to their impressive kit line-up soon.

There was a pic a short time ago of a Fei Bao 1/6th F16 showing a nice Hunter in the background at Fei bao's factory. I check the thread and it has since been deleted ....

Jim,

I'm with you on this. If it were sized for the for the 14 to 18 pound range, a P60 or P70 sized turbine could be used or the powerhouse EDFs (110mm to 120mm) could be used. Or, if it were sized for the 20 to 28 pound range, a P80 or P120 could be used as well as a TF8000 fan for the EDF guys. Put me on the list

I think Westbury products did the nicest size of hunter i have seen. It was designed around the JPX turbines, but would fit a P60/70 or wren 54 perfectly!! it has long since been out of produton . . . . . a great shame [&o] i have been told jetline models have themoulds for it now.

I'd be hitting the "Buy Now Button" right now
Maybe we should start a poll on what aircraft the ARF manufactures should produce in the Future??
Or on just how many of us want a Hunter!!

Jamie

Yes we do have all of the Westbury Hunter tooling along with the full production rights. We also have the Westbury Swallow and Sabre.

Unfortunatley due to other buisness commitments we do not have time to produce any of these kits.

We would be interested in selling all of these items if anybody is interested.

Thanks

Andy
