Default Preferred Size for Hawker Hunter ARF

As a suggestion from my previous thread, here's a poll to indicate the popularity of the Hawker Hunter in ARF form. Maybe we can interest one of the ARF manufacturers to take this up as a future model.

I'll assume the F6/FGA9 version, but with a few minor changes (gun pod sabrinas, and ECM lumps and bumps), this could cover the Swiss Mk58 as well. The early models would need a different wing without the saw-tooth. I personally think the later versions look better. Plenty of good paint schemes to choose from, and they look good with tanks under the wings.

I'll include scales ranging from 1/9th through to 1/3rd, which should cover 10lb and EDF all the way up to 30+lb engines. This model doesn't need 1:1 to fly well, scale is closer to 0.7 (or less).

For reference, here are the sizes at various scales.

1/9 scale, 48.9in span, 61.2in long
1/8 scale, 50.5in span, 68.8in long
1/7.5 scale, 53.9in span, 73.4in long
1/7 scale, 57.7in span, 78.6in long
1/6 scale, 67.3in span, 91.7in long
1/5 scale, 80.8in span, 110.1in long
1/4 scale, 101in span, 137.6in long
1/3 scale, 137.7in span, 183.5in long

My initial vote goes to a 1/6th scale, suitable for 18-24lb thrust.

Lets vote guys. If we don't ask, we don't get.

1:7.5 scale for Wren MW44 & MW54, 54in span, 73in long, 870 squares, 10lb - 15lb turbine, 3-4kW EDF, and a nice size.

The Hunter is dead slippery with lots of wing and goes great on a sniff of thrust.

OK, 1/7.5 scale turbine/ EDF added to the list.

Keep voting guys.

Edit - Poll also updated to allow multiple selections for those that fancy more than one size.

Why isn't there a poll selection for "ALL of the above" ?

Gordon,

I made it where you can select more than one option...!!!

Personally, I'd get the 1/6 scale for my 54 Supersport, plus a 1/7.5 scale for my MW44.

How about trying to replicate the 22 Hunter Loop from Farnborough 1958.

LOL - no thanks ! At least one of the guys is bound to start "flying the wrong aircraft", with potentially hairy results. (Was bad enough in giant-scale racing when we had a heat with 5 of the 6 aircraft being identically painted [X(] )
