Y/A F18 single, good for turbine?
Is the Y/A F-18 setup with say a 14lb (super bee) turbine a good jet for turbine conversion? I have flown the older tams f-16 with this turbine and wondering if this F-18 would fly a bit better as it would be lighter then the tams. My tams dry was 16.5 lbs.
I think I can get this to around 13-14 lbs dry.
Do they land fast or will they slow down kind of like the f-16?
thanks guys...

Hi,
That's actually a really nice combo. They fly very nicely and land VERY slowly (nose high and stable), especially with flaps. Good luck!

What kind of weight am I looking at with this turbine dry?
I am going to mod it for use with a single pipe (I know, it will look kind of strange from the rear but it will save me money from a bi pipe and I should pick up a bit of thrust over said pipe).
Thanks

Hi,
The lightest one I did was 15 pounds dry with a P-60. I've had them as heavy as 18.5 pounds dry, and they all flew fine. It can fly very heavy and not mind. As for the pipe, yes. I've seen plenty of those, especially back in the day. If it were mine, I'd spring for the extra $150 or so and get a split pipe. You're not going to lose enough power to notice it.
