Will the flash owners who have the rabbit/flash combo or very simlar post how the performance is?
things like
1. Vert. performance
2. Take off performance (does it seem to be underpowered)
3. Also, can you give my an idea how the flash lands as compared to say a hot sport airplane, f-16, etc...
I am thinking about the flash and have a 800' paved runway. I just want to make sure I have plenty of runway for landing.
thanks

Sweet.
ok, now I will be using a rabbit. I would like to keep it light as possible, but I would also like retracts/struts that are robust. I rather be heavy and have great gear then light and end up with scratches on the bottom! lol
What gear, brake, retracts do you rec? Something like prolinks?

Actually, one of the guys re=powered his Flash with a Rabbit and brought it to the field yesterday. He had a Rhino in it (turned down to 30 lbs). Now with the Rabbit and no wing tank, its between 5 and 6 lbs lighter with fuel.
We fly off a concrete runway and the Flash was off the ground in around 200' The speed on the radar gun was 175, but we all thought that it looked faster. Vertical was actually very good and got better as the flight went on. After a few minutes, I would say it was unlimited - for all intents and purposes. In all, the Flash with the Rabbit (and main tank only) was a great combo!

weight isn't an issue, a heavy Flash flies just as good as a light weight one. the stock retracts modded to 8mm pins has worked great for me.

Noab,
Mine is rabbit powered. My takeoff lenght at 90 degrees F is within 1 runway centerline stripe. I believe that"s 120ft.
As far as landing, if you cant land a Flash, might should consider another facet of this hobby

So what are the best struts for the flash (flying off pavement). Are the pro-links better then the stock sturts?
Just trying to obtain an overall pic so that I can price some items out and see what is the best combo for me.

No, not with mine anyway. Dont you have or didnt you have a Falcon 120? I"ll put it this way, After 40 flights on my Flash, I flew my F-120 again and the landings on the falcon were "challenging" compared to the Flash. I think I crashed landing the Falcon yesterday. I taxi to the pit but it was still a crash I think.

if price wasn't a factor I'd of went with the pro-links, but it was so i didn't.............with that said, i have had absolutely no issues with the stock setup, even before i drilled them to 8mm, just didn't want to chance a pin braking.

Yeah, had a flacon 120. Loved the way it flew and landed easy. If you had full flaps on it, then it would be difficult to land. However, half flaps was great. The super bee pushed it rather well.
I love the way the flash looks. I am either looking at the jolly or the red checker.

Here are some photos of the gear modifications I have been working on.
I had a set of Robart 630's from my Formost, the Robart 630 have a larger mounting flange than the original Beotec units, so rather than hack up the wing sking on the flash I modified the mounting flange. The first photo shows one modified.
I have a set of Jet 1A struts I will be using, for the mains so I will have to make an extension to make them fit.

Alex gave me a bunch of spare parts with the Flash deal, in particular there was a full set of formers from another fuselage, this gave me an idea for the nose steering.
I dislike pull-pull steering, so I designed a direct mounted servo steering system.

If you do ship it my way.
I've got a Rabbit that would love a plane. You don't even have to paint it for me, I can do that.
Thanks for the pics! Plane is looking great.

Here are the drawings I made for checking the Rabbit fit, I couldn't find a dimensional drawing for the Rabbit so I created one, then I created the layout in the Flash so i could cut out the mount adapters.
