RE: Cermark Viper Jet Redeux
Flew mine yesterday - P160 (I know, but i dont have a 120
Take off roll very short, rotation hardly noticeable. Very smooth.
Flap - have set up crow - about 5mm up on the ailerons at full flap, and hardly any pitch change. Landed a bit fast so bounced and got airborne, but no bad vices it seems.
Love this jet
One comment - on the tail feathers - a bit of silicone sealant between the fin / stabs and the fuse before you bolt them in stops any wobble and helps with flutter.
Have fun guys - lovely jet!

RE: Cermark Viper Jet Redeux
Difficult one to answer - I think you could buy it from a dealer att that price.
I got really lucky - paid 600 for airframe incl retracts and 7 servoes.
I would guess 8-1100 is what I would expect to pay.
Always the option of an F15 if you are getting into jets - they are great.
But to answer your question "is it a good jet" I would (after only the test flight) have to say yes, definitely

RE: Cermark Viper Jet Redeux
I`m seriously thinking of making an offer for it.It will only be my second Jet as I`ve just started out with the Boomerang Sprint, idea being to use the P80 plus all the bits from this jet.Isn`t a P160 a bit over powering?I was looking at the Skymaster Viper jet 2m WHICH IS £2300 from Al`s including retracts/cockpit etc,but maybe if I can get this jet for maybe 1k,maybe worth it.
I`ve also read that there is a problem with the thrust pipe not being long enough, was this so with yours (approx 3 inchs too short)? I would be very grearfull if you could let me know of any issues you had with this kit.
Are you going to Classic jets this friday?
Cheers
Steve

RE: Cermark Viper Jet Redeux
Hi Steve,
Didnt have any problems with the tube. Did find it a real squeeze to getthe servoes in the wings and stab - used full size ones in the wings, and Hi-text 6245 (I think they are) in the stab.
Needed quite a bit of nose weight, so could have moved the turbine forward a bit.
Yes, 160 is huge, but its all I have other than a 70. Found on the 160 that it flew happily below half throttle.
Came out a bit heavy in my opinion - 26.5 pounds dry.
Also found that space was a bit short despite thre big cockpit area, so plan carefully. Use Multiplex plugs for the wing servo wires - less aggro.
Used a new JetTronics gear valve - absolutely great, as they shut themselves down after 15 seconds s- so less worries about leaks
Will post any other info if I think of it.
And no - no trip on Friday for me - have to keep toiling away so I can buy jet fuel

RE: Cermark Viper Jet Redeux
Just another question if I may.Did you use the 3 fuel tanks as supplied? I presume not due to the larger engine used.Just wondering why you came out som heavey, how much weight did you need to put in the nose?
Thanks
Steve
ps:you got any pics of yours?

The manual calls for 13/16" on the flaps. I've managed to get max throws on them to 1 1/4" on both sides ..... what did you guys end up running??

Here is my completed Viper with Jetcat P-120
Here is my completed Viper with Jetcat P-120
Recently I bought a friend a Cermark Viper, and seeking more information about the Viper here on RCU I found this forum.
And seeing the pictures of your Viper I was sure exactly my Viper.
My friend bought the Viper there in Florida. Your Viper has been sold?
If yes, probably he's here with me in Brazil.
As I think I know? The hole on the right side, probably to switch on and off.
And by finishing that you said you did to the seam on the fuselage.
hugs
Juliano
