Default Pete 737's Maiden Flight of the Rafale

Here's the maiden of the FEJ Rafale flown by Pete at the New England Jet Rally. I think this used to be Jeremy's 'LGM Graphics' never maidened Rafale, now in the hands of Pete.

I love the sound from the biforcated pipe , Nice job Pete!!! It took 'Brass Ones' to take the maiden of a grey jet up on a cloudy day[8D].

BTW Pete, you're landings are Great considering your time into jets!!!!... You'll only get better too.

*** Sorry about the vid quality, the camera was set incorrectly.... I won't do that again!

Pete, Way to go man. Awsome. Nice long take-off roll looked great. You must have P-70 tanks and flying as you said with a P-60. Good long flight!! Thanks for posting.

Congrats on your maiden !!

..i noticed during landing when you where giving "up" input to get nose high to land the jet..

the butt of the plane where going down than the canards lift up the nose!...maybe you need litle more "up" throw in canards?

well done again![sm=thumbup.gif]

Is not Skymaster.

Thanks DelGato

I was told by a few guys to pretty much deactivate that canard, It has less than 3mm travel up and down. I think it had negative incidence on the maiden takeoff, Which is why the plane dove for the ground the instant I reduced back pressure on the elevator.. The second flight's takeoff was MUCH better. More than I can say about the landing

I was holding full up elevator for quite a while on that roll, probably since it passed me[&:]

What engine is really in that plane? I wouldn't expect a P-60 to get it off the ground. Perhaps it's a P-80 and that is a typo.

It is a 60, Your right, It barely gets off the ground. I'd like to know who els flys it on a 60. Its not bad after a couple minutes though.. Cant fit an 80 in it. I would like to get a rabbit..

Im pretty sure TO weight is just over 21 lbs. If the 60 puts out 13-14, Who knows how much is lost in the pipe, Not only a Bi but as I understand FEJ pipes absorb more thrust than say a Tams's....So I hear.

It's not an extreme jets Rafale either, it's a Fly Eagle Jets Rafale.

Well that explains a few things. X-treme Jets recommends at least 19# thrust for their Rafale and I couldn't imagine anyone putting a P-60 in one.

[:@] I just edited the text to indicate it's a Fly Eagle, not a SkyMaster.

... Changing the vid title too.

Yea, I talked to another guy who said that the performance with a P-60 was anemic. I have one slated for EDF with a Schubler 120mm fan. I wonder how that is going to do? [sm=confused.gif]

I guess I better lighten it all I can!
