RE: Great Northern Hobbies
Did you do a search on RCU of GNM yet?
Not yet. I want as much info as I can get from any and all sources possible. Thanks guys. I think I got my answer.

RE: Great Northern Hobbies
I tried to do business once with GNM. I tried to order a set of Trim wheels. There was poor communication with him. Unreturned phone calls. Unanswered emails. When I left a message requesting to cancel my order (3 weeks after ordering) I got an email from Ed's wife which stated that she knew that Ed was a poor communicator and that she would look into my order and get back to me. She did not get back to me. So I sent an email canceling my order which Ed's wife acknowledged. I ordered the wheels from Todd at Dreamworks. Got them in 3 days. About 1 week later the wheels from GNM showed up. This was now about 6 weeks after ordering.
I don't care about the long delivery time but the lack of communication is the issue for me. It's not my problem that this is a side job for him. It's his problem.
My 2 cents.

RE: Great Northern Hobbies
I received a call from Ed last night ready to help me with my order. I thought that was great. But is that as far as he goes? Is he gone after the sale? That's not great. [:'(] A FEIBAO L-39 is what I'm after and GNH was one avenue to follow up on. Any ideas on a go to business that sells this jet?
Thanks for all the experiences guys.

RE: Great Northern Hobbies
I had the opportunity to meet Ed in person this past June. Frankly, there was a black hole in the past where I and others had no choice but to go elsewhere for our hobby needs, but he assured me that that those are behind him now, and even showed me the blackberry that all his calls are forwarded to. He is much more active, visible, and very supportive of jet events this year. I had the opportunity to watch him in action from the sidelines, and I would have to say that he is back in the game again. They carry some unique products that are not available elsewhere (on this continent), so it is good to have them back as a viable choice again..

Just for point of fact. When I ordered my Trim wheels from GNM it was winter of 2008. The website mentioned the Blackberry and that all emails would be answered, "even when we are flying". Well, that never happened then. Only time will tell if anything has changed. But I buy everything from Dreamworks. Much more professional organization. Very responsive and customer oriented.

RE: Great Northern Hobbies
Just an update. I did contact Mike at Global. Was very impressed with the man. Not a bad thing about him or his company could I find. I ordred the L-39 from him. Good communication. The jet should be at it's new home in a week to 10 days. Has any body seen what he is doing with the Legend L-39 with the upgrades. Outstanding.

I don't usually respond in a negative way,but I had the worst
experience with Ed in my 30 year history in the hobby. He was
a Simjet dealer/rep,and I gave him a motor for repair. After 6
months of lies, the situation was rectified by Simjet Denmark. He
never even apologized for his deplorable conduct/demeanor. I
wouldn't trust him.

I had the same problem 2 years ago and I know someone else that had the same problem with him this year.
He was too busy and he was on his boss shoes was his answers.
My nextJet, I got it from Michel Duran from JetsRC one year ago. Excellent and fast service.
