Hi guys,

Could anyone of you please give me a reference to the scale positioning of all the lights on the F-104. I have the SM model and a light kit from Details4scale. So before I start making holes in my model I would like to make sure.

Thanks for your help.

Jan

Jan,

Navigations lights - 4 total. two on intake and two on tips.
beacon - there is one in front of fin- not all 104 have this - and one below
white light - behind cockpit. On SM kit this goes out with the cockpit cover.
4 formation flight lights on rear section of fuselage. They are white and orange altough color may change. Also there is a control on cockpit where pilot can make these lights blink or not. So your choice if you want them to blinking or not.

I am not sure I understand completely.

The navigation lights on the tips - if using tip tanks, do they still go on the wing, or on the tip tanks. If so, where?

The beacon in front of the fin - where, on the top of the fuselage? If so, then it will be in the same area of the rear section as the formation lights. Right?

Landing lights - one on each main leg and one on the nose leg?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers,

Jan

If you use tip tanks no navigations lights on wing tip.

My beacon goes on the turbine cover.

3 landing lights. one on each leg.

Hi To All ,
after long years of jet flying I guess time for me to get one 104 , its really beautiful plane . as we have a grass take off, I plan to use K210 turbine. I would like to know your experience, I read from different forums everybody says increase turbine 4mm and muffler in 2 degree position seems the best. this case what s the best CG point 120 mm or ?
also specially want to know your idea if this plane so advance for a guy who flies good with Avanties , F16s in any size from 1/8 to 1/5 , hawks from small to 1:3 , and flew more than 50 scale world war gasoline planes over 2-3 m span … I trust myself for many kind of planes but whenever I look 104's wings it makes me think over again and again …and no confidence at all
please advice .. thanks

Same evaluations/thinking myself these days... more/less same personal experience... and I always loved so much the Starfighter (real and rc ones)....

As far as I know, this jet flies beautifully and not difficult to handle, of course if correclty finished and balanced, like so many other jets anyway.

I think it's time go far that... 😉✈
