RE: Skymaster ARF Plus 1:5 scale F-104G
Anton ... Did you do anything to the wing, apparently the Avonds kit has modified wings to make it fly really well, I think he might have used washout in the wing and perhaps modified the airfoil, anyway love to see how this one flies, I was toying with the Avonds kit but I will be looking at this one too for some good flight reports. I think it will be a great future project.

I flew the Avonds F-104 DF ten years ago, when i test flight this F-104 1/5 that much better than Avonds F-104, the wings of 1/5 F-104 also has the washout and the edge leading , so very easy to take off and landing, i was very imager the designed from Mr.Heinz Werner Behrens (Germany), who spent over 7 years and builded over 5 F-104. then sent the full scale plans to me for made this F-104, this is very great designed and contruction, we now wait the Likai 's scale LG, this will be best ARF F-104 in the RC Jet market, i even see,
Best regards
Anton

Hi,
The F104 LG is a work of art. Only to be seen in full size aviation. Makes me think about the Russian WJM winner....
Here are some pictures to enjoy. The usual hydrolic setup with a world first actuator....

The damping rate of main gear seems be a little soft that causes unstable ground handling on roll-axis. A smaller damping-oil hole or higher viscosity damping-oil in the main dampers are needed.

Hi, all
I just received the e-mail from the F-104 designer Germany guy, who very happy to see this F-104 nice maiden flight,
Dear Anton!
My very congratulation to you!!!
You did a perfect maiden flight with this amazing pretty airplane!
It looks really great: Start, flight and landing. Airborne she seems to be without any problems: All flaps, elevator and landing gear work well, Especially both landings were excellent! Also in flight she looks very stable on all axes.
The final and also the landing shows a very good stall characteristic.
Only the aileron may need a gyro. Than there is less work for the pilot.
But this property is common to all F104 that I have flown in my life!
I am very pleased with the entire Skymasterteam and with Mr. Likai on this successful launch of your F104 project! And it fills me with pride and joy, I could have to share your work a little.
With my very best regards
Heinz (from Germany)
