Matt,

Monique asked me not to publish the photos from this year when she realized how revealing the T-shirt was :-)

you better delete that photo before she asks me for your number to yell at you LOL

Hard to tell from such a small pic, but based on the pics ealier in the thread I would assume that you are talking about [link=http://www.graupner.de/fileadmin/Veranstaltungen_Messen/Jet_Power_2008/epic_flyer__gb__screen__.pdf]Graupner's model [/link] of the [link=http://www.epicaircraft.com/Victory.html]Epic Victory[/link]

Actually, it was the owner (or at least one of them) of Epic (he's based here in Vegas). It was interesting though to see an identical one with Graupner at Jet Power. Jeff with Skymaster bought their white gel coat model that they brought with them.

So, I don't know if Graupner is just a dealer for them, or if they are the ones making them???

Hmmm - that sounds kinda like Rick Schrameck .... I used to fly RC with him a lot when he was in the SF Bay Area (and I crewed for him at the Reno Air races etc, and worked for him at a Silicon Valley startup). After the Bay area, he moved to Vegas. Rick doesn't seem to have a waiver though (according to the AMA docs), so I guess it can't be him.

Another buddy of mine who's the Executive General Manager at Epic and also an RC guy, is Dave Hice ... but as far as I know he's based in Oregon, not Vegas ... and he doesn't show up on the AMA waiver list either.

Mike Sheally doesn't show up as waivered either. Wonder who it was... ?

Gordon,

They had a German guy (didn't catch his name) flying the plane. Jeff T. got a pull on the sticks too. I'll look through the pictures and point out who approached me.

It was Rick Schrameck, I talked to him and got his contact info. He has offered to let Jake try out that bird in Las Vegas after they make some minor changes. The guy who was with them was part of the project and was from Germany. The jet had a Booster 160 and according to Rick he is the designer of the full scale version of this aircraft....

George Manning and Kenny McSpadden flew it... Looked like a good flying bird... Jeff T bought the Joe C snatched it up from him.

It’s a nice bird. Flew like a dream.

Unfortunately with the one peace wing I later realized it would not fit into my car.[][]

Joe C has it now and henry will do his magic on it.

Gordon, Rick didn't fly it but he encouraged every one else to. I got my hands on it and the only thing missing was a lounge chair!! It's a floater when at 1/3 throttle and a cruiser at 3/4. Nice flying plane. He lives in both Oregon and Las Vegas. Nice guy. I bought one myself!

I don't know who the pilot was Saturday, but he should have let Jake fly it instead.

Thanks for the info Lowell. Maybe the next time I'm in Vegas, I'll try to arrange to do Rick's waiver sign-off for him, so that he can fly it too ! I know he's well capabale of handling jets, given all of the stuff he's flown in the past.

You're right - he's a really nice guy. I've known him for many years, but have largely lost contact with him recently due to him always changing cell phone numbers, email addrs etc.

I think he's probably lived more in one lifetime than any 2 other people I know added together. Despite everything that he could brag about having done though, he normally just comes across as "Joe average" though, and he fits in everywhere.

Sorry that I missed the chance to meet up with him again at Fresno. The day job somehow just tends to take over all my supposedly 'free' time.

Later,
Gordon

Flyboytha1,

Thanks for all the great videos!

I bought that F-18F Tam Hornet at Fresno Jets 4 years ago, been flying it ever since. Fittingly I also sold it this year, at Fresno Jets, to another pilot who will use it as his practice Hornet. Nice to have video of one of my last flights with it.
Thanks, again.
