My Feedback: (2)
Additional 12FG Owner
Michael ,
Please Keep me advised on how the 12FG works for you. I recently bought the DV4 intending to use it on my 9Z but can not buy the adapter for the 9Z now. I have a 12FG available and would like to know how the 12FG/Weatronics combo works and what was the total cost. I hope you have the full 12 channels available. You can answer here or my direct email: [email protected]

I have about 5hrs worth of testing now on the DV4 / Futaba 12FG combo in both my CARF Hawk and Flash. I'm happy to report that it seems to be working perfectly!
I have not experienced any unwanted movements of the servo's thus far. The previous version had the servo's glitch anywhere from once every few seconds to several times a minute.
Jens took my existing Wea Futaba adapter and updated it with new firmware that they have available. I see the new futaba adapters are up on their webshop now.
Sid, the cost of an adapter is 40 EUR less VAT and 21 Eur to ship it to the States. Oli might have them in stock in the US?
I now have 12 control channels, I'm able to operate all my gyro gains remotely, have my nose wheel, brakes and telemetry read out all on their own channel
I'll probably run a couple more hours of testing before flying just to be 100% confident but, it all looks good right now.

Oli,
Please let me know how it works. If it works with my 12FG I want one or I will go ahead a buy one and test it. I assume from Mike's comments that he is using PCM G3 modulation to get all 12 channels, can you verify that?
Edit
I just read the Futaba instructions for using the TM-14 2.4GIG module and my last statement above my not be correct. The Futaba instructions state that when you plug in the TM-14 a new modulation selection is available, "Band No. 2.4GHz Fasst Multi" and it comes up automatically. Maybe this is what happens with the Weatronics adapter too.
Mike,
Thanks for you input.

Guys,
I'm replacing the Weatronic 12 micro (non Gyro) in my Avonds F-15, to a new Weatronic 12 micro with 3 axis Gyros. Both are at exactly the same firmware version, 2.63.
I had hoped to save the receiver file from the old receiver, and just load it into the new receiver. Then I could just start setting up the gyro settings.
However, when I attempt to load the file into the new receiver, it fails with the error, that says something like 'incomplete file'.
I'm betting that since the old file does not have any gryo data in it, because it came from the version that doesn't have that hardware in it, that it's not happy.
Has anyone else done this type of change, and had any luck loading your old settings? I'd really like to not have to write down every setting on every servo, and set it all up by hand, but I have a sneaking suspicion that's what I'm going to have to do.
Thanks,
Lance

Sorry to confirm your suspicions, Lance, but that is my experience too.
That said, I have converted some receivers to 2.63 from 2.30. I have then reloaded the 2.30 programming saved in the latest Giga control into the receiver upgraded to 2.63. Most worked, one didn't !
Still having great success with with all my Weatronics equipment, more perfect flights last Friday.
Now to master the BAT 60 programming!
David.

Apparently they can change the firmware of the adapter to match the signal from the radio.

Hi guys,
Do you know which adapter variant works for Futaba 12Z and 12FG (both bought in Hong Kong so I assume they are both Asia region coded)? From Weatronic site they have the following Futaba module adapters variants:
Overview of variants::
00_F5 - suitable for T12FGA ect. with country code "Europe"
00_F6 -
01_F5 - suitable for FX-30, FX-40, T14 ect. with country code "USA"
01_F6 - suitable for T12FGA ect. with country code "USA"
02_F5 - suitable for FX-30, FX-40, T14 ect. with country code "Europe"
02_F6 - suitable for T12FG ect. with country code "Europe"
03_F5 -
03_F6 - suitable for FX-30, FX-40, T14 ect. with country code "Asia"
There is not a 12Z listed but I assume you can use T14 type (03_F6, Asia T14) on my 12Z, right?
