My New Years resolution is to limit myself to 2 jets in 2010. If I can do that - one day at a time - I will probably deem myself cured and go back up to 3-5 jets per year.

Shaz; I too have a problem.

Back in the early 90s I was a big user of alcohol and nitro. (In those days we used D/Fs and although the chemicals were much worse for you, they were not quite real jets.) My habit was pretty bad; to the point where all my disposable income went into this addiction. Eventually however, in the late 90s, I was gradually weaned off by my caring wife who convinced me to concentrate on other areas of my life.

I managed to stay clean for nearly 7 years.

However, one day in 2006, I just happened to find myself strolling past my old dealers premise. I was of course seduced inside by memories of tearing up the sky. On entering his “shop†I soon discovered that a lot had changed in that 7 years. My old D/F jets were just pale imitations of the real thing, I could now buy pure, clean, uncut, turbine, and went home with a box marked PST.

At that moment I knew I had never been cured! The addiction is stronger then my will power.

I am now hopelessly dependant (but very happy), and my wife has accepted that this is my vice…

Roger,
Welcome to the group. Coffee is free.

George,
Unfortunately you know me too well buddy . I promise to limit myself to 2 jets for the first half of 2010. My ultimate goal is to have a 4 jet rotation. Now that I sold 2, I am down to 4, but the problem is I am saving for the JL F22 and my friend's P-180 to drop in it. That would make 5. Shhhhhh...don't tell my sponsor...

...um...or my wife....

Now I will tell ya just how bad it is. I got bit in the late 60's on a single ch rc. and up to 1985 thats all I did was RC and went straight cold turkey on RC for full scale and even built 7 exp/ultralights. Well along about 2000 I sold my last Exp and now I have kits and engines and turbine parts all over the place. Thats how bad I have it-Is that coffee fresh???? [:@]

HI TO ALL , I AM JETAHOLIC , BUT HERE IS A GOOD REASON FOR THAT :

JETS VERSUS WOMEN
-
JETS CAN KILL YOU QUICKLY ; A WOMAN TAKES HER TIME.
JETS CAN BE TURNED ON BY A FLICK OF A SWITCH.
JETS DON'T GET MAD IF YOU ' TOUCH AND GO '
JETS DON'T OBJECT TO A PREFLIGHT INSPECTION.
JETS COME WITH MANUALS TO EXPLAIN THEIR OPERATION.
JETS HAVE STRICT WEIGHT AND BALANCE LIMITS.
JETS CAN BE FLOWN ANY TIME OF THE MONTH.
JETS DON'T COME WITH IN-LAWS.
JETS DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW MANY OTHER JETS YOU HAVE FLOWN BEFORE.
JETS AND PILOTS BOTH ARRIVE AT THE SAME TIME.
JETS DONT MIND IF YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT OTHER JETS.
JETS DON'T MIND IF YOU BUY JET MAGAZINES.
JETS EXPECT TO BE TIED DOWN.
JETS DON'T COMMENT ON YOUR PILOTING SKILLS.
JETS DON'T WHINE UNLESS SOMETHING IS REALLY,REALLY WRONG.
HOWEVER
-
WHEN JETS GO QUIET, JUST LIKE WOMEN, IT'S A BAD THING.

HAPPY HOLLY DAYS TO ALL , KEEP ON FLYING JETS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ,
CHEERS,
ISAAC

Only thing...
When the woman goes quiet.... It guaranteed to cost you at least 4 jets minimum..., and you wont want to trade for a more expensive one
When the jet goes quiet, you can salvage what you can and buy another one that is sexier and sleeker and more expensive...

Oh... um.. Mi llamo Goose...I have been a jet addict since forever. It went from models to full scale and then back again... I have to admit it was fun to get paid to fly... just fueled the addiction[sm=shades_smile.gif]

Well, I had a small setback on Black Friday after Thanksgiving. While most people were shopping, I managed to pop off my left main wheel on a touch & go on my F15, the plane lost all brake air pressure, rolled down the runway at near (but NOT QUITE) take-off speed [] and had the now loose hanging strut catch something in the dirt at the end of the runway (predictable) and ground looped the plane thus cracking the fuse and wight wing and stab...

Where some people see failure, like a true Jetaholic, I see opportunity.....

That same morning I had seen my buddy Clark fly his brand new Fei Bao Mig 21, and while she flew well, and looked sweeeeeeet, I have very poor vision and realized that it is just like trying to find an F-16...HARD. Well, I have one of these Migs and havent flown it yet. So in order to help lessen the anguish from my F15 loss, and decision to sell my percious Mig 21 unflown, I...

I...

Sold the P-120 in my F15,

Sold my Mig 21 RTF w/ Super Eagle etc...

and I got a new Boomerang XL from Patricia Cardash, a Global Jet Club F22 Raptor ARF PRO, and also picked up an F4 SkyRay on the side....(phew [sm=tongue_smile.gif])

oh yeah, and a couple of new Rhinos from Jet central [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

My sponsor was mad at first until I explained to him that I only lost $1000 combined in this entire set of transcations, and I havent sold off all the parts of my F15 yet that would cut into that $1000....

My name is Shaz, and I AM an Addict. [sm=drowning.gif]

You have a real problem....the worst kind. While admitting you are an addict, you are still trying justify your addiction. I am afraid you haven't hit bottom yet and the worse is yet to follow! My recommendation is not to delay the ultimate pain any longer and get a couple more kits now!

Shaz
I am ashamed of you. You hid the boomer from me when we had a chat a few days ago. You said nothing about it. Hiding jets is a true sign of a jetaholic. You need to come straight with your fellow addicts. We will help you get through it. Like when we were talking and I told you to get both of the jets we were talking about. But in true jetaholic fashion you bought three. George
