Default DeWalt A123 Packs at Amazon

If you're interested in A123 battery packs and don't mind building them yourself, Amazon has a great deal on 8 cell DeWalt packs. You'll need the security bit set to get the pack open or else cut the screws. $56.50 delivered. I ordered one the other day. Gets you either 2 ECU + 1 RX pack or 4 Rx packs.

Also at Tool King at $49.88 plus whatever for shipping:

2300mah M1's. Cut them apart carefully and all you should have to do is add leads, balance taps (if you want) & shrink. The welded tabs take solder nicely.

I'm flying my Flash off of a single 2 cell pack from one of these DeWalt packs using 2 servo leads thru 2 switches. No blinking lights on the Spectrum rx's.

matt, they have 8 A123 2300 cells. I have cut off 4 for a AMT ECU pack and then I have two two's for the twin Rx power.

Wish I could get them at that price in the uk [&o]

We have done alot of testing with A123's as receiver packs. They WILL get out of balance if you dont balance them regularly. I use FMA 4 and 10S chargers, and the Multi 4S for balancing charges, and when I use the fromeco cube, I use a blinky at home after field charging. I had a pack with about 100 charges non balanced and it finally blew a cell, and that kicked off a bunch of testing resulting in the findings we had about balancing. They must be checked regulary or balance charged, or some sort of balance circuitry. For two packs, I just solder on a JR connector and put the signal wire on the mid voltage. Andy Low sells a 4S charge wire that matches to that.

I hope that is the question you were asking...

Thanks for the tip Mr. Silz and the rest of you.

$6.68 a cell to the door is pretty good.

HI, if it"s too good to be true then may be it"s not, these are really cheap, I paid $80 plus shipping.
Has any one bought from these people before, or is this a Black Friday special.
