Peter,

Try using the Beta multi-image uploader function. Nice install on your air tanks.

Hi Ronnie,

Can you provide the dimension of the intake opening in to the by pass? I am modifying a CJM F-4 DF and need to make the intakes for a JC Rhino. I have a bypass with a 3"opening, I am not sure if that is sufficient???

Thanks,
Mike

Billy,
Seems like anymore the only thing that's up is work and keeping up with the grand kids. Thanksgiving was good, always look forward to the great meals that accompany. Hope yours went well. Look forward to the F-4 all painted... gonna be a jaw dropper I'm sure. Keep in touch.

Ronnie

Peter,

What Dave meant to ask was have you lengthened / shimmed the nose strut. Some have posted earlier in this thread that the F-4 is hard to rotate and that the strut needs to be longer and a stiffer spring added to the nose gear strut.

I see,,,, No I haven't done that yet.

The AOA on the ground is problematic .... It's 0 degree or even (-) ..... it should be +2 or so.

What did other people do ?

It's a wall mount unit so I guess it has to be lowered by drilling new holes or make an extension .....IMHO the whole retract is flimsy and inadequate for this size of a model ....that little alu block that holds the strut seem to be rather weak...one hard landing and ..........

here is mine from BVM kit.

From what I can tell, you can't lower the retract unit on the wall mount any further... as the tires with the gear retracted just barely make it inside the doors now. My first option was as suggested earlier in this thread, and that was to shim the nose gear down in the trunnion block and add a stiffer spring so the nose gear didn't compress on roll-out.

I am currently thinking of going with a nose gear strut that extends like the BVM unit, which is made by Matrix. I am pretty sure Dave is going this route. Here is the link... http://home.earthlink.net/~matrixmt/id14.html

That's the one I had on the F-4 in the picture....but it's a 1/8.4 scale....and is made for the BVM retract unit.

I am sending my gear in and he is going to retro it for our model, Ronnie is getting the measurment but we also need to make sure it does not hit the bottom of the cockpit
So all this needs to be looked at
