Default RAM ECU and A123 Packs

I need to know if anyone is using a 2 cell A123 Pack with a RAM ECU. If you are can you please tell me what kind of performance that you get from it. How many starts between recharges, etc. I bought a 3 cell battery pack to test but was informed that the ECU would not work with a 9.9 Volt pack. Can someone please chime in and let me now if they have had good or bad results. Thanks.

Is your RAM ECU the new updated one? Because the new version is suited for 123's.
I had ECU replaced to the new version by RTI.

Patrick,

I use a 2300mah A123 2 cell pack on my RAM750F. I can tell no difference between the nicad an the A123 with the exception of
more starts between charges (air start). Mine uses about 150mah per 7 min. flight.

I'm running a 3 cell A123 on my ram 1000 ECU (co2c ver.) and have no problems at all. I've been doing this for the better part of a year. I average 300mah per flight.

3 cell 123's are too high in voltage for the ECU built in power
supply. It will run very hot. 2 cells would be better but I
have never tried them. I use Duralite 2 cell li ion ECU
batteries on my new ECU but the RAM ecu's will not run
very well on these. Carlos of RTI and some of his friends
in Florida use 2 cell 123's and say they work fine.
