Gerry, are you guys planning on extending the mains on the dv8r? I ask because with the stock gear, there is just not much room for flaring without hitting the tail surfaces. I have the tail skids, but these gear are pretty short compared to some of the pictures I have seen of the older version. Plus, the way it stands now, when you pick up the nose it does not rotate back very much before it hits the tail.
This should have been addressed before this kit ever left the factory.
any updates to others that are building theirs?

The mains don't sag but just a bit when sitting there. I measured the distance from the bottom of the wing to the bottom of the tire and it's 8-1/8". I blocked the mains up 1" with pieces of wood and it made a huge difference. I will prob. extended the mains 1".

Gerry, I don't mind moving the wheel wells down an inch. The mains need to be extended right about an inch. If they could make the struts 1" longer, that would be awesome. Right now, when sitting on level ground the horizontal stab is right about 4.25-4.5 inched from the ground. When I blocked up the mains, the tail was like 6.5-7 inches off the ground and made for a nicer rotation/flare angle.
Gerry, thanks for all your help and support.

The DV8R has always been an odd duck when it comes to its high stance. The problems that you are having is why the aircraft needs the 4" wheels and the long legs. Once you get it there the airplane is one of the easiest landing airplanes in the world..

With the crow setup I have, it's now very easy to land. Those first videos I was just keeping the speed up as I was concerned about stalling. Now that I have flown it more, she slows down much more and is a pleasure to fly. I just wanted to have the ability to be able to flare it more without fear of hitting the tail.

No, I centered my servos (Or tried too) in the slot. I then mounted the blocks that way. The hatches are about the only poor design in this whole jet. The hatches are nice, just not centered like they should be or at least mine where not.
I have put probably another 8 flights on in yesterday and today. Love the way it looks in the air and how it flys.

Ive got a question for you guys about the flaps. I used CA hinges and put them in about 1/8" from the bottom of the trailing edge of the wing. When I deflect them to get the 3 1/2" of deflection I get about an 1/8" gap between the flaps and the wing. If I push the flap up to the wing with no gap, I can only get about 2" of deflection. Have you guys ran into this issue ? If so, what did you do about it?

I too had the same problem. What i did was used ca hinges like you did. I got everything aligned, put the flaps down to about 3.5 inches and then set the hinges. I think I can get about 4 inches of flaps if needed. I too have that gap. If you want, you can seal the top side with clear tape in the joint.
I have found that unless you have a long runway, that the crow mix I have listed works very well and makes this jet land like a trainer jet if not better. If you are running a large turbine, you can prob. crank in another .5 inches of flaps over my settings and another 1/8-1/4 inches of up aileron and I think you will find that it puts this jet on an anchor and slows it down very quick. This jet likes to glide.

Really, wonder why? I guess I never really thought about it one way or the other. In fact, not sure that I sealed mine up. Trust me, it does not really need the lift as much as it needs the drag. This jet floats.
Socomon, if you remember why please post. Would like to know.
How is the bee flying the nano for you?
