Default TBM DV8R anyone have one or about too?

I just ordered a TBM DV8R. Should be here early next week. Just wondering if anyone else out there has purchased one or is in the process of building one.

While I put it together, I will take some pics and things that I have deviated from the instruction manual.

Hope it flys great.

Well, they told me it was in stock and now I have a UPS tracking number that shows it to be here next Tuesday. So I hope not. They said they just got them in like a week or so ago.

are they going to replace your canopy frame. Yeah, figured would have to go over the glue joints as well.

cool. I will be selling my boomerang minus the turbine.

I wish I had a larger turbine to put on her, but the rabbit will do fine.

That looks sweet. I opted for the tiger scheme, however this scheme was very close and I almost went with this one.

So what are you going to power it with?

Did you buy the retracts from them as well? I did, was wondering about the quality. If you have them, what do you think about the retracts, struts and brakes?

Either one of those will jam on this boy! Kind of wished I had purchased the Eagle instead of the rabbit. I am hoping I can keep the weight low, no bells and whistles.

I have one that just arrived a week ago. Looks like a decent kit ... not too much building. Going to put an older Titan in mine and may dial it back a bit. Mine arrived in fine shape and I think for the money, muy initial impression of the quality is pretty good. Doesn't look like there is much building beyond servo installs, hinging the control surfaces, mounting the stabs and equipment installs. The canopy will need some painting to hide all the plywood.

Keith,

Are you using their retract/struts and brake system?

David

Yes. I will probably start the build in a couple of weeks.

Actually, they are pretty impressive. Hard rubber tires, trailing link design and massive cylinders for the size and weight of the gear. Springs appear to be substantial. Interesting locking design that allows for a completely horizontal trunnion slot in the side frames that will eliminate the buildup of burrs at the transition points.

Ahh, so they do lock then! Great. After looking at the pictures, I was thinking "how in the heck are these going to lock?".

Hopefully they work great on the jet.

Thanks for the input on these.
