RE: Habu in UK!!
It flies!! Far too much elevator, although that did make for nice harrier passes and landing. The rudder needs more coupling than the hawk (with the rudder mod) but I think the habu is faster. A few more flights to get it set up and I think it's a winner

RE: Habu in UK!!
The ailerons are very crisp but may need a little differential as with full roll the model didn't seem to be totally axial. This may also be down to the huge movements!!!
Knife edge was spot on with a small amount of rudder as reported by Colin and a tiny bit of down elevator needed as it was tending to pull towards the canopy, but I'm sure that only 1-2% of mix will be needed. I dont think that Colin noticed this as he has the wheels fitted which will probably counteract this.
CofG was also spot on, not sure where it is but no trim was needed on elevator (1 click on roll) and you only needed to breathe on the down while inverted.
All in all a very good model, look forward to another go at the weekend ;-)

RE: Habu in UK!!
We flew Dave's for 4 minutes for the first flight. These were 25c cells, I think that 45c cells will arrive today ready for the weekend.
I'm sure that Dave will chip in with how much capacity it took out of the cells once he has finished charging.

The 4 minute flight we had used on 1873mAh in a 3300 pack, so 5-6minutes is going to be normal.
Daft post won't deliver the packs today and I've just been to sorting office and it's shut-plan B for Sunday get more from WLM!
S, you think I'm going to charge, bring and throw MY jet again for you?....need Many Latte's for that!!

Sounds like you guys are liking it. Definitely a pilots plane. Goes where you point it and does it all. I don't know how you burn down only 1870mah in 4 minutes Dave, we can't come off teh throttle.... too much fun!!!
I will also say we tested a lot and found the battery included delivers a bit better performance than Thunder Power Pro Power 30C cells. We saw a difference in speed and vertical. Anyways, all is good.
Enjoy guys.

First flight on the cells...plus in the UK we know what a throttle is
Cells must have come a long way if they are that good, i'll test a set sometime.
Regards and Happy New Year!

RE: Habu in UK!!
Another 3 flights this morning and I got to fly it while Stevie photo'd! Hand launches fine on your own, just hold it infront of the inlets.
Things I've found are the wing needs additional fixings, either add two spike nuts into the inlet 50mm back for a removable wing or as I'm doing now glue the wing on (as mine will never come apart) You can feel the wing move on the fuselage during a roll-I think that was the pull Stevie was feeling in KE. I've added a rudder/aileron mix at 6% opposite to rudder to stop roll with rudder, like this I can now fly complete knife edge circuits. Snaps are very crisp, especially inverted to inverted. Spins are good...I really like the Habu ( I must admit to not expecting much from it and was bullied into ordering the kits by customers-thanks Colin!) Now flying with the timer at 5 min 10 sec and this is using 3000mAh on the 25c cells.
The model is very quiet, fan runs smooth...good job Horizon!

The cells are getting better. We really pushed the vendor to source some good batteries on this one. They are the life of the pudding. If you guys notice the more dense beading of the Z-foam which makes the Habu more solid overall. We are still perfecting how we will mold and keep the wing joint gap tighter on future projects. Wish we knew all the answers from the start, but what is there does work great and will lead to better models in the future.
Dave, I totally understand the throttle. You gusy have got us beat, all we love to do is slam it and go! It is just too much fun.
Enjoy it guys. This is the first and I can say things will only get better!!

Good to hear, don't get me wrong it's very good for what it is...you can pick one up, go to the field, start charging, assemble the model with no glue and by the time it's charged fly it!
We sold another from the demo today, it's going to be a big seller for sure...we need a nice Mig 15 using this set-up. The Alfa models EDF mig is one of the best flying EDF foamies, so a bigger Parkzone model would be great!
What has sold a huge number of the 3s models in the UK is that they all use a 3s 2200 Li-Po, a range for 4s 3300 would do the same thing.

I second that on the Mig 15 front
