Default Habu in UK!!

The Habu has arrived, looks good.
Pity the packers put sellotape on the painted surfaces []

Interesting to get one in the air...if it stops raining

Downloaded the instructions pdf, looks impressive.

Shame I'd have to throw away the Rx and fit a FASST. I'll wait till you get the next batch in and my Squall is destroyed.

Hey Ragz
There are 4 on the way - one's got your name on it .
Kolibri will be interesting but far simpler to put it on a Funjet , no tailpipe etc

No need for a tailpipe, you can mount the Kolibri in the tail, like they did with the Multiplex Twisters...

I didn't buy BNF as I don't want the Eflight cells or AR 500. We are using 30C Thunder Power 3300 4s and AR 7000's (6200 will do) for independant ailerons not the micky mouse Y lead method!

We only have PNP.

I think wings will flex too much for even a T32, carbon spar will be needed and the wings gluing on as the fixing is not great.

Anurag

Horizon's web site is best place.

All.

Those that like detail, there are small white bits of velcro on the fuselage sides...! Ah nice! It keeps the battery straps out of the way!
Lots of nice detail, pity the painting is done over the mould flashing on many edges, if you trim it off you will need to repaint!

I was lucky enough to pick one of these up today from Ali. I have to say while they have done a cracking job of the multiplex style foam, the fitting of each component is awful. Bigs gaps between the wing and fuz, the same between the front of the tail and fuz, plus there is no way the canopy will stay on without the use of tape!!

I hope it flies well, once it's sorted. I'll find out in the morning I guess

Simply overated and costly at $400.00 U.S. Price point should be beter suited at around $250.00 U.S. Nice try at Parkzone but I'll pass on it. You can get the SU-34 vectored thrust for less and much more fun.

Fit on my model is OK, canopy fits well enough and the design probably means it will stay put.

People seem quite happy with price, this has the same motor/fan as the Eflight Hawk, decent 60A controller, digital servos...I'm down to one kit now anyway. I'll wait till I fly it before I make anymore comments. Never stopped raining today and we were far too busy to get out anyway

Several are due to fly tomorrow, so we will see.

The question is has anyone put a Lambert turbine in one . I saw a video of the multiplex twister with a Lambert.....flew great . I like the looks of the Habu even better . How do you think the Habu would hand launch with the Lambert .

Picked mine up from M&R this afternoon.

Fit is all good on mine although I shaved some foam off the battery stop on the bottom of the canopy as my pack is on the tall side. Canopy clicks in perfect now.

Static thrust feels promising and I've done some high speed taxi's in the sodden garden....in the dark. I reckon this will probably ROG even when wet ! Fingers crossed anyway

Duncan,

When we put Dave's together this morning the fits seemed to me to be pretty good. Perhaps you have a poor one. Take it back and see.

Too late Trevor, it's all sorted now Just a boggle rather than anything else. It's all ready for a flight first thing in the morning. I could hand launch the hawk myself and this seems to have more static thrust, so shouldn't be a problem

Duncan,

Easy fix? Let us know how it goes. I was impressed with my Hawk the last time I flew it so am expecting good things.

Yes, just had to remove some foam with a scalpel and it seems to of done the trick. The wing was fouling mainly on the fan mounts and the canopy just needed a bit of help so it wasn't sitting proud at the front.

As long as Isabelle doesn't wake up for a bottle before I leave, I should have a flight report in the next hour

8.30 two Habu's arrived at our local strip. One with U/C one without. Both 25c 4s 3300 packs while we wait for the Pro Power TP's to arrive today.

Seeing I can't fly/photo/throw I had Little Stevie fly it and I gave it a gentle push. one peep trim and it was groovy. Knife Edge needs a small amount of rudder and a tiny bit of down.
Inverted needs just a small amount of down. C of G is spot on with 4s 3300 pack.

Slow flight is good, vertical is good too.

Just got back from the patch - first time Ive arrived at the flying club with the headlights still on!

It flies really really well, took off from soaking wet grass with no problem. Knife edge just needs a touch of rudder, vertical more than I expected. Not as attractive with the wheels on obviously but it lands and takes off soo nicely they are staying on for the moment ! Good speed too.

This is definitely a keeper for me to get a quick jet fix in between all the lovely bits of weather we are having at the moment!

Just waiting for the 30C packs now, should be even better.
