I know this is almost 6 years after your build but do you have any details how you did the nav lights in the wings? My understanding there is no provision in the kit form

Thank you for the response Hasse
Am I to assume you had to cut out the corner of the wing tip to facilitate the light and lens? What lighting system did you use?

Hi Sergey and Malcom

exhaust pipe is the original that comes with the model , and it works well without heat problems , the weight is 18.3 kg ( 40.3 lbs ) without fuel

I can make a loping at half throttle so i have to think twice so i do not fly too fast and break down machine

Nice looking Hawk and nice flight. You don't have those lights on your Hawk? What engine are you using.?

I haven't finished my Hawk yet, but planing to set the same production light on that. The engine will be KingTech K-160G, initially I planned K-140G (more then enough power, but K-160 is 190g lighter).

Just worried about fuel tank capasity- it will not be enough 3.75 lt standart tank (Kevlar one) + 250mllt UAT for 8 min flight + taxi I think so...

Kind regards,
Sergey

I don't believe Skymaster provide cut outs for the nav lights. Will you have to cut a portion of the wing tip and make a plastic lens?

You are right, SM didn't cut any slot for Nav lights, but there is nothing difficult to cut yourself, then install lights with plastic lens.
SM also didn't cut out for EPU exhaust and ventilation intake

Sergey

I have decided to order this kit. I will get the McLaren paint scheme. I was going to go with the Kingtech K180 but I was also looking at the K210 which is slightly lighter and same size but more power, not that it needs it. Maybe I should just go with the K160 as others have done, seems to be plenty of power. I'll use the DX18, igyro, powerbox, and would like to have a smoke system as well. I would like to have the option of using the smoke tank as an aux fuel tank and be able to switch between both uses via a selector valve. Has anyone ever done this??
I liked the idea of using the center drop tank for this feature. I saw over on the 1:3.75 thread that some guys have used the center drop tank as a aux fuel or smoke tank...
I'm hoping to place my order within a few weeks...

I saw on skymaster website they are doing a T-45 version of the large hawk. Does anyone have information on this? Hoping to see it at jetpower

I placed my order with Skymaster today. I ended up deciding on a different scheme, went with the Canada scheme just because I live in Vegas and it gets so hot, I was worried about the black paint getting too hot out in the sun and causing damage.
Also thinking about the Kingtech K210G for power. Weighs less than the 180 but same size, figure I can always pull the throttle back if needed.

Any thoughts?

Chris

Update....My Hawk is now in production and the latest is that the fuselage is being prepped at this point. I requested pictures but was told they will not be available until everything gets back to the main factory.
