Default HABU "BIG BLOCK" UPGRADE!!

This past weekend at the Desert Jet Storm Rally i was able to see the new SHULMAN AVIATION 68mm Fury edf unit put through the paces in the new Parknone Habu!! What a difference!!! From low end grunt to top end screaming!! The best part about it is that it drops right in and is ready to fly in 15 min or so!!

Are the leads on the ESC long enough to reach the motor without modification.

We are running them with 4S packs. With the 30C packs they temp out at 118 degrees after 4:30 at full throttle.

When you install the fan unit a leading edge cut needs to be made to accept the lip on the fan housing. Also running the fury fan with the eflite ESC will cause a thermal shutdown after 4:30 of full throttle flying. It was pulling 60 amps. It was faster.

Great info. I'm gonna buy one if I can find it. Recommended battery for best performance? The 4S batteries? Where is the best place to buy those?

I am using the Turnigy 30C 3600 mah bat. I would like to get the 40C 3000 when they come back in stock at Hobby King.

Thunderpower 3250 45c batteries would be ideal, but it is more money then I want to spend.

I ran it on my emeter last night. With the fury fan I am drawing 63 amps, 980 watts.

Ill bet the controller is separate. What would be wrong with running a 100w CONTROLLER?

how much faster does the [plane fly with the new setup?  What speeds do you reckon the stock setup fly at with say a 35c 3000ma turnigy pack?

That is almost exactly the same power as you get out of the lander 68 mm fan with the 3575 kv motor..... In fact it looks very much like the lander fan !!

It is a relabeled unit. It does work well.

CF-Habu !!

Couldn't resist joining the fun. For those that know me, this color scheme was predictable. Inspired by the CF-5....actually this would likely make a good scheme for my Maverick one day as it resembles the CF-5.

Has a Schubeler DS-30 fan with Neu 1112/1Y motor for thrust, TP 45C 3250mha pack for fuel.

Chad, not much to it. Take your standard Habu, a couple Tamiya TS spray cans (gloss aluminum, bright red, flat black, flat clear). The graphics are dry transfers that getstencils.com ran off for me. Lines are a fine sharpy. weathering is watered down acrylic through an airbrush. A little planning and 2 afternoons of painting, etc and you're at the field flying!
