Default Do you like to fly scale jets or sport jets?

What type of jets do you enjoy flying the most: scale jets(military, general aviation) or sport jets(Bandits, Flash, etc)?

These days I tend to fly scale jets the most. While they aren't as precise as a sport jet, I just love the way they look in the air. Plus, it's a challenge to fly them smoothly and nail the landings. It feels like more work to finesse the plane and I enjoy that. It's ironic because I was flying my [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIDv74XVeCs]40% 3D planes almost exclusively[/link] when I had my Flash, but since I've started flying scale jets my interested in nonmilitary jets has waned. I'm sure this is temporary. What do you enjoy flying more and why?

Sport Jets.....

I'm not a very good pilot and the sport jets seem to have a lower workload, more forgiving, and seem to fly more axially. I need all the help I can get.

I should clarify, I like the LOOK of scale jets better. I just like flying sport jets better.

I noticed he has edited the OP to clarify what he classes as sports jets, that type of 'sport' jet appeals to me it`s the twin boomers i`m not keen on.

Maybe the bandits and flashes could be clasified as something else as there could well be a full size that looks like those. For me the thing that splits them is the wing loading, scale being high and sports being on the lower side. (as a general rule of thumb)

John, when I say sport jets I am pretty much referring to the high performance, fast, and more aerobatic planes like the Flash and Bandit.

Yeah, i realise that now. It was when i read your post at first i thought you were refering to the likes of bobcats and boomerangs. If i had somewhere to fly a bandit, i would have one in a minute

Both! but if I had to choose I guess a good scale plane that flies like a sport jet ( AW Cougar, SM Viper big and small SM MB339 Mibo A-10 etc) would win!

Definetly the scale jets for me. The more challenging to fly the better I like it.[sm=tongue_smile.gif]

as an outsider to the model jet world, this explains why I don't see a whole lot of slower, aerobatics-oriented jet models on the market.

I want to see a nice video of a jet doing a nice big rolling loop centered on the flightline.

Scale all the way. How can you look at the F-4 Pic above and not get chills down your spine???
The scale ships just look so menacing in the air.

I love the look of scale, but don't have time for a nice scale project. I prefer to fly the sport jets. One day I'll have a nice big scale jet, but for the time being, I like the sport stuff.

Both. I prefer sport jets for the "low overhead".

The scale jet is a Viperjet so best of both worlds - some scale but the ease of use of a sport jet.

I do like the looks of the new CT-114 that Comp Arf is coming out with. Been on the wish list for a while.
