RE: Ali's Epic adventure.
Just an update to this old thread. I finally managed to get round to having the Epic painted.
I really wanted to deviate away from a base white scheme. I had some zany ideas of camo and the such. Joe C even came up with a cracking idea of having it done in airforce one colours, but in the end I decided to do a fictitious biz jet type scheme but have it based in heavy metallic colours ( With a drop of candy for good measure)
I was not 100% keen on the model when I picked it up from the painters, but the first time I had it assembled and out in the sun light and the colours started to come to life I was over the moon.
It's different enough to keep me interested yet believable that you may see a real one painted that way. Anyway, no matter how it looks its still an awesome flying jet!

Cheers Dunc! I will shoot an email later today! The good news is that after the Futura this one will be a walk in the park, with just some basic lettering.
One last photo of Steve and Matt with their Epic. Matt and Steve are the builders of both Epics! Thanks guys!

RE: Ali's Epic adventure.
Hey Andy, How is it possible not have as much fun in this great hobby?
Anurag.
The Epic flies superbly. It can be flown either like a business jet ( Nice slow and scale like ) Or like an out and out sport jet. Its fast with a 160, unlimited vertical and amazingly precise and aerobatic. Super strong in its construction. The only issue is that it's not an ideal short field plane as it is not super light and is really efficient, which means it floats on and on. Having said that I flew it out of a 100 m strip on the side of a hill in Italy/ Sardinia.
Regards Al
ENT. I have had a load of fun with this model ( Before it was painted) But I have to admit that it's allot nicer now that its all painted up!

Hi Didier
I tried crow and it really didnt help that much! Glad you like it, and yes I hope to bring it to Pampa, although some one is coming to the UK to have a look at a bunch of turn key models and this I am afraid is one of them
I hope I have something left to fly, otherwise I will just have to turn up and drink beer!

RE: Ali's Epic adventure.
The model from the German company is NOT an Victory. It is not scale in any way. The Victory is available in Europe from Graupner. We are sending 15 planes to Graupner within the next few weeks. This is a lot of planse so they will likely be shipped container to keep your price down. BTW all the new planes have scale doors and joggles for the nose hatch and engine cowl. Ali had a lot more work to do because he had an early production version. Ali's work looks fantastic.
