Default Hobby shop in Singapore

Does anyone know of a hobby shop in Singapore that sells jet kits. I am visiting Singapore next month and I'm looking to buy either a FeiBao or similar F-18 jet. I'm sure prices are a bit cheaper there and I don't have to worry about shipping cause I'm on a ship. It can "stow away" in my stateroom.
I appreciate any help.

Hey Shakey44,

When will you be here?We have two shops that sell jets, the FB F18 agent does not have one in stock at the moment.Maybe he can order one for you so long so that it will be here when you arrive... Let me know and ill put you two in touch with each other. I think the other shop only has the Blue Angels Jetlegend 1/8 F18 in stock. I'll check for you....

Also give me call,we go fly every Sat in Malaysia.

Cheers
K

I'll be there in July for pretty much the whole month. I'm also on the lookout for Yellow Aircraft F-18F for a friend.

Very nice shop, lots of turbines in stock....but prices are not cheaper than in Europe.

Have a nice stay in Singapore!

I´d wish to be there......

At the address of :
Fook Hai Building, 150 South Bridge Road, Singapore :
(Just next to MRT CHINATOWN station)

Singapore Hobby Supplies (Futaba, OS, most Japanese brands)
http://www.singahobby.com

RCS Hobby (has the Habu on stock, new shop !, but more specialized in electric helis and some German RC brands)

NTC Hobby (has most of the US RC brands and some German brands (Multiplex,...))

There is also another shop oen floor higher, but unfortunately nearly dead (has JR)

Best shop at the moment for jets in Singapore is still ROTOR HOBBIES (has JetCat, JR (great prices on servos !!!) and Hitec, some Futabas, and Jetlegend and huge stocks)
Block 808, French Road #02-172, Kitchener Complex, Singapore
(Just next to MRT LAVENDER station)
http://rotor.com.sg/

There are a few more RC shops, and I count this one is not to be missed too :
Also next to Fook Hai Building and same exit of the MRT Chinatown ; this shop is recently relocated to larger shop surface, now in the building next to McDonalds (Chinatown Point Building), where they sell Chinese Antiques ; great prices there too , like at Rotor :

Jet Hobby RC Model
http://www.jethobby.com.sg/cgi-bin/ezsite/index.cgi

-

If you have time left, and fancy more little RC shops (but not for jets) :

Sky Hobbies Singapore
200 Jalan Sultan, #2-36A, Singapore

(this is also near MRT LAVENDER, other side than ROTOR and over the bridge ; if you do not mind the 10 minutes walk in the heat, or else take a taxi)

-

By all means : ask everywhere for a GST reclaim form ! (about 7% taxes minus an administration fee) : you can claim this back in cash at the airport when departing again.

-

Good Luck and have fun ! Been there some 150 times already...

Nicolas.

Man, I stopped counting at 30+ trips over the last 10 or years. You win with over 150 trips!

Correct, Mr. Walter Lee is the owner, a real gentleman in business and he knows how to treat his customers well. He is surrounded with his family working in the shop too and some very skilled sales people (Gil for Jets, Mike for helis,...).
They also have an in-house building service.

Hi Shakey44,

Unfortunately Yellow Aircraft is not represented in Singapore... besides Rotor Hobby (which is the JL rep), the local skymaster rep is http://www.asiascalerc.com/index.htm. However, you might want to call him or write him to check what he has in stock. I think the airframes and some accessories (the China made ones) are much cheaper here compared to the US (provided that you do not have to pay taxes importing them into the US). Furthermore the currencyexchange rate is in favour of USD.

I will be in Los Angeles and San Francisco mid next month for 3 weeks.... I think I will be writing soon in RCU to get information on hobby shops that deals with Jet stuff in LA and SF =)... I heard from a friend that JHH is in the LA area??

Rush, last time I was in Singapore ( 2 months ago ), I tried to find Weatronic products. No one had them.
ou can order online from the Shop in Germany and get the stuff delivered to you with Fedex. Or next time I come to Manila I can bring what you need.

Hey Oli!

Do you often come to Manila?  let me know when you're coming over and you can join us over the weekends.

We dont have a turbine field yet but grass airstrips we have a few that are within an hour or two from CBD...

I looked at the weatronics distributor list, and they have NTC hobbies for malaysia/indonesia and i assume singapore but NTC hobbies doesnt have any in stock....

Oli,

The Weatronic websites confuse me and asking through email is guaranteed to not get a quick response from them i guess....  Sent you a PM / Email!

Regards

Rob
