Default Looking for small Fire Extinguisher for our turbines

Anybody know where I can locate a small under 3lb Fire extinguisher, that is safe on our turbines Co2 or something close ? I am trying to get ready for this season, and can only find 5lb Co2 extinguishers in my area. Looking for something more portable !!
Thanks

Search for fire extiguishers at any online fire supply store. Usually can get 2.5lb halatron for about $100. Better than CO2 because of cold stress CO2 might put on hot turbine and also better than dry chemical which will ruin your turbine.

Hope this helps.

Another good fire extinquisher, have a look at a push bike gas tyre inflator, they use a small CO2 Soda capsuals, handy to keep in your pocket, not enough to put out a full fire, but enough to quench a wet start, Oh and your bikes tyres of course.

I understand the Jetcat does not recommend anything but co2, no halon etc

According to the JetCat manual:
"In case of a mishap, fire extinguishers should be on hand at all times. JETCAT USA recommends the CO/2 variety. Powdered extinguishers will contaminate the precision components, upsetting the integrity of the turbine."

I think they are discouraging the use of the powdered or chemical types of extinguishers due to engine damage. Their recommendation of the "CO/2 variety" would, in my opinion, includeany other"clean agent" type like the halon and halotron.

Forgive me for mentioning this, but Halon is now illegal in the UK and most thinking countries should follow our lead.

Those look interesting, wish they sold just the nozzle as I have a bunch of old Paintball gun CO2 bottles and that is all this thing uses.

Under the Clean Air Act, the U.S. banned the production and import ofHalonin 1994. Halotron is now used as a Halon alternatrive.

From what I have looked at, the halon type has been used in the aircraft area for awhile, they are small and reasonably priced. Never thought about the bike tire inflater, will look into those ! Also the cold shot has a residue of some form, from what I have seen on there site and video's

Furloughed, I am mistaken ! that cold shot your linked us with is a new product I was not aware of, and looks like it might work well for our needs.

CO2 is completely non-toxic, no residue, but has potential for "thermal shock" damage to the motor...

Halotron is (reports vary) toxic after coming into contact with fire, but no thermal shock issue.

2.5 lb halotron = $81
Cold shot = $99

I too wish they sold JUST the cold shot nozzle, I have at least 20 bottles of various sizes.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm......
