Default Xtremelink in Jets, anyone using it?

The forum seems to have quite an opineon on this but have things changed since then. Development is an ongoing thing and people learn. So has anything been improved?
Are people using them in high$ jets?
Cheers
Andre

I used to use them as they were the first to offer a 2.4Ghz module system. Everything was great at first, but as more & more people began using other 2.4 makes, I found an increasing number of glitches when flying. I changed to the Spektrum system & have never had a glitch.
Xtreme appear to have changed their system & it may well be ok now.

Graupner offered a system based on the XPS system called IFS, they withdrew it after a period (and gave me my money back) and now have a system that has twin antenna diversity and an option of which type of transmission can be used with it, that's all I know, after being caught once I have not bothered to keep up with developments.

Mike, that is understandable and I agree. But I am curious as to whether some other users are now using it successfully since time has passed since then.
Jim, the president/CEO is still promoting the system on his website.

Hi Andre,

I bought it to use in a boomerang intro, but first tested it in a Calmato Sport. It was last software version (V3), with dual 2200 mAh receiver batteries to make sure everything was fine.

First 4 flight were Ok, but crashed on 5th (lost control 20 seconds after take off).

Now I am using Weatronic with great success.

Thanx, but how long ago was that? Also Graupner has it as IFS for use in EU. Do many people there use it in your area? I do not plan on using it but am just trying to determine the reliability of the design and software as it stands now.

Hi Andre,

one year ago, it was Graupner iFS, actually relabelled XPS without any change. On my club field, nobody is using it any longer for main 2 reasons :
- not legal in France (V1 and V2 were legal, V3 is not)
- too many issues regarding reliability

Actually, we are using Futaba or Weatronic for jets now.

Hi Andre
For me it is Ok and I still use the Xtremelink in my jets, glow planes, electric planes and heli.
I am using Xtremelink from the end of 2006.

Works for me in EDF jets. Newest is a PST Panther converted to EDF.
