JetCat info screen
This unit can stay mounted in your model, and will show you the most important values and parameters from your turbine in idle, starting and running mode.
Developed by Sandor Kruise (Digitech Electronics BV / Carsten Groen)
Some Highlights:
The JetCat info display which was exclusively developed by us, is designed for JetCat users worldwide using JetCat engines and ECU's.
The Unit measures only 53 x 20 x 17 mm (active display area is 36 x 10 mm) and is very lightweight (only 20 gr excluding cable).
The JetCat info display has a 2 x 16 characters display, with green LED backlight, the display is readable without any problems in strong sunlight also!
The unit connects directly to your JetCat ECU, or thru the JetCat LED I/O board interface, no other connections are needed. The display simply switches on and off together with the ECU.
Configuration is very simple, during this process you can tell the unit if you have a JetCat GPS receiver and/or a JetCat airspeed sensor connected, and you can even change between metric and imperial units!
Once the ECU is switched on, the display will enter "Idle mode", and show a number of changing screens.
When the engine is starting, the display will change to "Starting mode", and show important information for the starting process, and once the engine has started and goes into idle mode, the display will also change mode to "Running mode"
When the engine is stopped, the display will go back to "Idle mode".
Using the JetCat info display, there is no need to connect your large GSU anymore, you only need the GSU if you want to change some parameter etc in the ECU.
For "everyday use", the info display shows you all you need, and in some cases more that the GSU does!
It even helps you to remember the max pump voltage seen, this enables you to monitor if there is a fuel restriction coming up (filters etc). The maximum pump voltage is recorded by the device, and will be remembered between runs of the engine!
Also the minimum battery volatge detected during the last run is recorded, this is then shown one one of the Idle screens once the engine is stopped (not remembered during runs)
Since the unit is produced as we speak, we can still change the software and make changes to the firmware.
We are open to suggestions if you have any idea's, we might have overlooked something to show on the screens etc.

RE: Jetcat info Screens on stock
Very nice product !
Please bring them to the Pampa Jet Meeting this weekend.
3 for me, please.
No plastic case, eventually ? (How about some transparant heat shrink tube ?)

Sandor
Just a suggestion, if you could incorporate into it the functions of the LED/IO board that would be brilliant one less bit to find space for.

we provide 2 shrink tubes for it included in the package
we left it off in case someone wants to implement it into the airframe or cockpit.

I like the product, but if it's going to be mounted in the plane, can the cable be shortened?

yes you can , we provide 1 meter of cable since i think most of the users will use them in large airframes.
but there is no need to shorten it , there is no distortion comming for this cable

So can Istill get one from somewhere? Ibet the interest would be higher now - a lot more fadec turbines in the US now than even a few years ago

Nice product. A future "nice to have" feature would be a way to download the data of each run onto a field lap top for record keeping purposes.

RE: Jetcat info Screens on stock
I received my first displays from Digitech during the Pampa weekend.
Quality is impressive.
The cable is easy to shorten and re-solder to the unit, the solder tabs are large enough for a hobbyist like myself.
The display seems to be perfect for a clean installation in the plane's main board ; here I installed this one in my BVM BobCat.
Note that I did use the JetCat I/O board for the display connection, but Sandor told me it is easy to install a telephone Y-splitter block (between the ECU and the JetCat I/O board) and hence leave all the wires under the main board.
Congrats to Sandor and Carsten, really a very nice product and highly recommended !

Can you add Distance flown to the output for the Air Speed sensor and Last Run time to the output? I record Max Airspeed, Avg Airspeed, Distance Flown and Run time from the GSU
